Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan Manjushri Yamantaka, the supreme deity Yamantaka, was in the southern realm of Yama, in the great charnel ground called Fierce and Violent Grove. Its expanse was immeasurable, the foundation appeared as gold, the walls appeared as lapis lazuli, the peaks appeared as dark iron. Adorned with wheels, hung with banners, the light of the wheels and iron radiated in all directions. The intensely blazing light was the great fire of wisdom and action, casting forth nets of greatness, foot-nets, and nets of abduction. The great corpse pillars were adorned with makara-headed capitals, and had bases of burning wheels. The walls were adorned with protruding stacks of skulls. Banners of great fields, banners and parasols of makaras, and glorious banners were displayed in all directions. Many cittas were massed like clouds, dripping fat from the peaks, boiling blood from the roots, and streams of blood dripped from the walls. It was adorned with various mountains of fire from the eon's end. There were charnel grounds of skeletons, mansions of iron, palaces of wheels, and charnel grounds of decaying corpses, and so forth. There were a thousand charnel ground places. The sun had the color of fire crystal, the moon had the color of water crystal, and the stars had the radiance of tiny sparks. It was adorned with many planets and stars. There were waves of great weapons, shadows of black winds, mountains of skeletons, and waves of fire mountains. It was surrounded by a black iron fence. In such a place, many corpses were piled up in the charnel ground, completely filled with impurity, oppressed.
