Homage to Mañjuśrī Yamāntaka. Thus have I heard. Once, Mañjuśrī Yamāntaka, the supreme deity, was in the great charnel ground called Fierce and Violent Grove, the abode of Yama in the south. Its expanse was immeasurable, its foundation appeared as gold, its walls appeared as lapis lazuli, its peak appeared as meteoric iron, adorned with wheels, the light of the wheels and meteoric iron radiating in all directions, light and rays intermingling, great banners and long banners and extremely fine banners waving. The great pillars were adorned with makara capitals, with wheel-burning pillar bases, meteoric iron lightning flashing, and protuberances of stacked skulls. Great banners of the field, makara banners, parasols, and auspicious streamers were spread in all directions. Red sandalwood clouds were dense, and the peaks were adorned with various fire mountains. There were charnel grounds of skeletons, mansions of meteoric iron, palaces of wheels, charnel grounds of decaying corpses, and thousands of other charnel ground places. There were mirrors of sun fire, mirrors of moon water, and expanses of starlight dust. Many planets and stars adorned it. There were waves of great oceans, shadows of black winds, mountains of skeletons, and waves of fire mountains. Surrounded by black iron mountains, in such a place, many charnel ground corpses were piled up, filled with impurities, various kinds of decaying corpses, rotting ones, corpses, completely decayed red corpses, completely swollen corpses, stiff corpses, completely stiff corpses, half skeletons, scattered bones, shrunken ones, completely shrunken ones, standing ones, lying on their backs, lying on their stomachs, fallen ones, charnel ground corpses being torn apart, wings, being cut and cooked, enjoying corpses to the fullest, smelling the placentas of the charnel ground, blood, pus, and serum flowing, impurities flowing.
