Obeisant one with miraculous powers! Untamable subjugator, great power! Arrogant male and female Naga hosts! Subdue the fallen with fierce miracles! Come swiftly and unimpeded to this place! Accomplish the tasks entrusted to you! The matter is not small, no matter to whom it is entrusted. The time to subdue the fallen has come. To protect the Buddha's teachings, and to subdue demons and heretics, May the yogis of later generations who explain the tantras be satisfied, and may the other root tantras be complete. At that time, when Mara and Devadatta were engaged in heretical and perverse actions, from the rays of light in the Bhagavan's heart, in the center of the charnel ground where the two peaks of the divine direction were coiled in red and black, in the place of the charnel ground mother and Yama, there was one named Black Yama, in a state of samadhi that blazed with extreme wrath, urged on by the rays of light of the samadhi. The light of the eyes, the emanation of the heart, was emitted, and Mara Devadatta was greatly hated. Then, the venerable Shariputra and Kashyapa, and Changshe Qiaodina and others, urged the Brahmin to be free from sorrow. The Brahmin said to the Lord of Death: Alas, Bhagavan! Mara Devadatta is untamable, and with the nature of the five poisons, he has entered into the view of heretical and perverse views. For this act of harming the Buddha's teachings, the Bhagavan does not move from the state of great compassion, and the retinue, with the nature of the eight classes, cannot be subdued by the practice of great compassion. Please perform this act of subduing fear. Having thus requested, the Great Lord of Death entered into the samadhi of blazing and terrifying fire, and emitted black rays of light, which fell upon the fierce terror, and Mara Devadatta and his retinue trembled in fear and fainted.
