The Tantra of the Peaceful Deity of Dharmata. In Sanskrit: Dharmata Shanta Deva Tantra. In Tibetan: The Tantra of the Peaceful Deity of Dharmata. Homage to the Bhagavan Samantabhadra, the peaceful deity of all-pervading goodness! At one time when this was being taught, a deity called Bhagavan Samantabhadra resided in his own mind in all things. The mind resides in space. Space does not reside in anything, is not anything, and is not nothing. Likewise, the mind and Samantabhadra are also the same. That is the suchness. Dharmata is the Buddha. The Buddha does not abide in the extremes, nor does he grasp the center. The Buddha does not grasp directions, nor does he make 'I'. The Buddha does not accept or hold as primary, nor does he discard or abandon faults. Likewise, the realm is without change. The mind is without birth and death. Awareness is without gathering and scattering. The alaya is without good and bad. Thoughts are without weariness. Wisdom is without reversal. Time is without day and night. Meditation is without arising and ceasing. The body is without front and back. Speech is without arising and cessation. The mind is without permanence and annihilation. Qualities are without happiness and suffering. Activities are without effort and accomplishment. Although it is such a nature, those who see faults in dharmata, grasp phenomena as signs, and grasp the mind as a substance, the distinctions are explained as follows. Objects and senses. Mind and aggregates. Outer and inner. Cause and effect. Buddhas and sentient beings. Among them, all sentient beings are sentient beings because of ignorance. Moreover, they are sentient beings because of attachment to all things. Moreover, they are sentient beings because of clinging to all things. Moreover, they are sentient beings because the power of clinging increases. Among them, all Buddhas are Buddhas because of pure intention. Moreover, they are Buddhas because of non-attachment to all things. Moreover, they are Buddhas because of non-clinging to all things. Moreover, they are Buddhas because the power of non-clinging increases. All sentient beings are sentient beings because they cling to existence. Moreover, they are sentient beings because they cling to permanence in existence. Moreover, they are sentient beings because they cling to solidity in permanence. Moreover, they are sentient beings because the power of clinging to solidity increases.
