All of these come from self-arisen words. The single son of the Buddha, the self-arisen wisdom tantra. Merely through seeing, hearing, and touching, one will attain perfect enlightenment at the time of death, and for the benefit of beings, one will obtain the Nirmāṇakāya. Om Ah Hum. Homage to the vast expanse of Samantabhadra. The order of practicing the self-arisen wisdom tantra. Death, breath, and warmth, these have three meanings. First, it is merely explaining the difference in the meaning of the tantra; second, it is showing the practice of the method of holding the tantra; third, it is showing the order of signs. The first is the Dharma that has no sharpness or dullness in the faculties. Even a blind person can see. Because for all other causes of actions and words, if there are no eyes, the meaning of the words will not be clear. Therefore, merely through this sign it is enough, so it is very excellent. If there are no ears, one cannot hear sounds, and one cannot listen to teachings. Because one cannot be clear without relying on hearing, merely through this sign it is enough, so it is very excellent. This tantra does not rely on actions, nor does it rely on physical disabilities, being bent over, or beauty. Other tantras rely on the recitation of body and speech, and there are many that are meaningless. Merely through observing these it is enough, so it is very excellent. Habitual tendencies have no thickness or thinness, because there is no need for meditation. Other tantras, if one does not meditate, there are many that are meaningless. Merely through observing this it is enough, so it is very excellent. Age has no old or young Dharma. There is no need for the effort of meditation and practice. Merely relying on breath is enough. Other tantras require the control of wind-energy, and if it is neither cold nor hot, one needs to practice. Merely through observing these it is enough, so it is very excellent.

Ah! This is a Dharma without good or bad karma. For other tantras, if one does not abandon evil and practice good, one will not obtain the fruit. If one examines this, even if it is possible to have committed the five inexpiable sins, encountering this will liberate one from the lower realms. Therefore, liberation through examination is particularly excellent. If this tantra is worn on the body of sentient beings in the six realms, it is holding the lineage of all Buddhas. Therefore, it is called the only son of all Buddhas. The following is a practical guide on how to hold this tantra: Write this book in gold letters, clearly and without missing any of the three syllables. Wrap it in various colors of silk, fumigate it with various medicines, place it on a mandala, and arrange a grand feast gathering. Offer a mandala of five precious substances, a golden mandala one cubit long decorated with turquoise, and a mandala of grains, and then bestow empowerment. Alternatively, recite the mantra of the tantra and place it on the heart or crown of the tantra student. When bestowing blessings, the vows should be made firm. If others recite, when phenomena such as rainbows, sounds, thunder, or earthquakes occur in the sky, point to the east, south, west, or north. Visualize your own tongue as a bell, vajra, jewel, lotus, or sword. If the tantric text is proclaimed, then whoever sees or hears the signs of rainbows and light will quickly attain the Sambhogakaya. The secret is the samaya (vow). If one says, "I have this," then because one's fruit is turned away, no signs will appear. If kept secret, one will be liberated from the painful bardo at the time of death and attain the self-arisen wisdom tantra, which is the Sambhogakaya. The following are the signs of liberation shown after examining these three: The person who holds this should be regarded as a stupa of all Buddhas. Why? Because it is a sign of attaining the five Sambhogakayas of the Buddhas. When this person passes away, burning the corpse will produce three phenomena: rainbows, light, and relics. The fire's light is bright white and does not move. The smoke is blue and swirls to the left. Signs such as these will appear. The wood for burning the corpse should be sandalwood or juniper. The fuel for burning should be mustard oil. A pan should be prepared underneath.
