Obtaining leisure is as rare as the sun and moon, The yoke hole in the middle of the vast ocean, When the neck of the rotten blind turtle at the edge fits in, Obtaining leisure and a human body is extremely rare. Even if obtained, it's like having one meal in a hundred years, Obtaining it once is just this life, Obtaining it again later is a hundred times more difficult. When a precious wish-fulfilling jewel is found, Don't throw it in the mud, but diligently wipe it clean, Pray and offer it at the top of the victory banner, Place it in a wish-fulfilling box. Don't entrust it to all the inverted enemies, Protect it with the lamp of the teachings, Eliminate all poverty and suffering, May all happiness and perfection arise. The root of the teachings of all Buddhas, In the accumulation of supreme precious jewels, The eleventh chapter, on the difficulty of finding leisure and endowment, is complete. Alas! Even if leisure is obtained, If beneficial deeds are not accomplished, One will not become wealthy in the future, All conditioned phenomena are impermanent, What is the use of impermanence and great destruction? For example, four large poisonous snakes, Placed in a container without sealing the mouth, Without touching, looking, or guarding, If they escape, the executioner will kill with a sword. Like snakes that are difficult to stay in their own place, Like the accumulation of wind, bile, and phlegm, Without increasing or decreasing in their own place, It is difficult to stay healthy and at ease. If they increase or decrease, one will surely die, There is no example of not dying before, And there is no promise of not dying later. Now, the place where one does not fear death, That place, in seeing, hearing, and, In the place of remembrance, there is none, Therefore, there is no way to refute this. Even if surrounded by many loving relatives and friends, There is no delay even for a moment day or night, Loving children and close friends, Cannot stop this even for a moment. Material offerings and consultations, What method is there to protect against this? Even those who are powerful, arrogant, and proud, Cannot stop the Lord of Death, Yama. Even the power of a thousand Buddhas, Cannot save one from this, What need is there to mention other methods? For example, being pressed by four large mountains, Like a man stretching and contracting his arms, There is no way to escape from the midst of fear, Likewise, from birth, old age, sickness, and death, When no one can escape, The end of birth is certain death. This life is impermanent and quickly passes, Like the flowing water on a steep cliff, Day and night urging each other on, Going towards the direction of death. Like an arrow shot by a strong man, This life does not stop for a moment, Tend

Death draws ever closer, This life and the next are closely linked. Birth and death go hand in hand, Like a butcher leading a sheep to slaughter. Each step taken is closer to death, Like a blind person going to the other shore. Life is like a dream, lightning, and the sun between the clouds, So fleeting. Those with heavy karmic burdens in this world, Where many causes and conditions gather. Life has no certainty, The body has no essence. Because of disease, demons, and internal and external, There are many causes of death. Even if life is sustained by food, It will not last long; one dies of hunger. The causes of death are very numerous, Who knows if one will die tomorrow? Do not always think you can stay long, Seize today to act. Living lazily and indolently, Once you meet the Lord of Death, Mara, There is no escape, like a bolt from the blue. Longing for desires for a long time, life is short, All the favorable conditions for birth are exhausted, All the adverse conditions for death are complete. All the external elements are in turmoil, Filth and vomit cover the body, Strength is exhausted, the four elements collapse to the ground. Exhausted and unable to rise, throughout the body, The breath is heavy, panic and fear arise. Consciousness is confused, muddled, Utterly disgusted, at the time of exhaustion.
