The Great Extensive Lineage of the Bodhicitta Garuda. This is the Twenty-second Chapter, the Garuda Lineage, on the Absence of a Dwelling Place. Then, the Bhagavan, glorious Vajrasattva, and others, with great reverence, prostrated. The Bhagavan, glorious Samantabhadra, abided on the path of liberation. Praising, "Sugata, well done!" The assembly gathered in silence. Then, the Bhagavan, glorious Samantabhadra himself, seated on the great peak of his own greatness, spoke: The path of Dharma, without an object of focus, without conceptualization, the non-abiding bindu, the state of suchness itself. Self-born wisdom abides as it is, without abiding in an object, without being remedied by an antidote. Seeking the meaning of the four conducts, the distinctions are meaningless, how can one meditate on all formless dharmas? Mind is the basis, all dharmas are diverse paths, supremely emptiness, thus it abides in Dharma. Abiding and non-abiding, the path of self-nature itself, meditating on it as it is will not be attained. Liberation through attachment is not desired here. Even by holding the sharp or dull faculties on the path of Dharma, the object of attainment, the essence, does not arise, and it is not inferred by measuring and calculating. Like the edge of the sky, there is no obstruction whatsoever. The emptiness of emptiness, like a precious jewel, without an object of focus and without changing, abiding in its own nature, it fulfills all hopes. If left without examination, there is a great arising of goodness. Without separating memory and peace, it is shown with compassion. The unsurpassed Bodhi is the path to the essence. Such a place without seeing the Buddha. Without the Buddha, there is also no name of the Buddha. It is wrong to name it by showing the Buddha. Obtaining the Buddha from another is a wrong path. Self-awareness, Bodhicitta itself, is the body of the Buddha. It is not made by others, it is naturally abiding. Desiring happiness, one turns one's back on happiness. There is no place to seek within deception, attached to external objects, dedicating to objects, there is no object of focus. Like a great Garuda soaring in the sky, its nature has neither expansion nor contraction. Like a great ocean, it abides naturally, all kinds of dharmas arise without exception. In the pure realm of Samantabhadra's activity, there is no place for birth and change, it is suchness itself. Examining as it is said

Among all dharmas, do not seek externally, but seek within your own mind. To guide those who are lost, it is explained through words and letters as merely a gateway. The essence of self-awareness, the heart of Bodhi, is the Dharmadhatu. The Dharmadhatu is not found elsewhere; it is the Suchness itself. Let the wise understand it thus. This is from the Garuda Tantra of the Mind of Bodhi: The First Chapter, which states that there is no other dharma to be shown apart from the mind. Thereafter, the Bhagavan, the glorious Samantabhadra, spoke to himself: The path of dharma is non-abiding, without object, and without thought. The subtle portion of dedication arises from the object. Since the distinctions of thought, meditation, and dharma are meaningless, the self-born wisdom abides naturally and without thought. Free from action, not abiding in objects, and not to be remedied by antidotes, this is the nature of unsurpassed meaning. From the very nature of the essence, the Dharmakaya abides, manifestly non-conceptual in the vast essence. The yogi who desires to abide constantly, enters the pure path and attains the kingdom of equality. It cannot be spoken of, it is free from all expressions, in the mixture of dharma and non-dharma, without distinction. There is no higher place to be spoken of as ultimate dharma, nor is there a superior state. The path of delusion and enlightenment is not attained through thought; the great path of enlightenment transcends the limits of words. This is the same as the Buddha, the all-knowing one, not entering into distinctions, free from all thoughts. That very Suchness abides eternally in Suchness. To enter a path where there is no path is a great delusion. If one desires to seek, it is like a deer chasing a mirage. There is no object to be found, and seeking does not arise. Not clinging to anything, because the realm of wisdom is transcendent, even the state that depends on the ten bhumis is an obscuration of enlightenment. Therefore, one should always be diligent in enlightenment itself. Do not abandon it; generate the memory of enlightenment very strongly. If one does not abide in the self-nature and does not make the great medicine, the cause for going to the heavens will be seized by afflictions. Entering a path where there is no path, this path cannot be found, like an elephant tormented by thirst chasing a mirage. Even if one goes for kalpas, it is very difficult to find. This is from the Garuda Tantra of the Mind of Bodhi: The Second Chapter, which states that without being grasped by this true meaning, there is no means to attain Buddhahood. Thereafter, again, the Bhagavan
