Having perfectly created gold, you rejoice. In this impure world, you open the door to pure wisdom. Dispersing the darkness, you light the lamp. You bestow the nectar that cures suffering and disease. The hero who triumphs over the battlefield, proclaims the sound of the Dharma drum in the ten directions. With a mind full of joy and admiration, the master of the teachings, the teacher, the all-knowing one, comes at this time. The chief of the two-legged, we know you. Such is the profound and peaceful exhortation. Then, the Bhagavan smiles. From within the assembled retinue, Shariputra, born of compassion, with the light of stars and moon, having made offerings, draped his upper robe over his shoulder. Kneeling on his knees, with palms joined, he spoke these words: Protector, Bhagavan, god of gods, immaculate moon-face, golden-colored one, there is no other like you, free from dust. Unsurpassed, greatly wise, perfectly enlightened Buddha, supreme among humans, noble one with two legs, you are the Suchness that pervades all. For those whose eyes are blurred and cannot see clearly, who have the two obscurations of seeing double, with the collyrium of wisdom and compassion, you remove the cataract. In the manifestation of various forms as one, you open the eye of wisdom and show the mandala. Thus he prayed. Those who are together and possess good lineage, have no doubt about the signs and wondrous miracles, and with faith, become disciples of the Sugata. Wherever beings dwell in the world, with body, speech, and mind, they prostrate with one-pointed devotion. On the thrones of gods and humans, the Thubpa (Shakyamuni Buddha) sits before each of them. In their respective languages, the voice of Brahma arises, and great joy arises in the three realms. White like pure white clouds, the four mindfulnesses conquer meditative stabilization. The flowers and incense of the limbs of enlightenment, the fortunate bumblebees are satisfied with the essence. Thereafter, those who tame gods and humans, the skill of coming forth victorious from the host of Matri, the retinue of King Suddhodana, the supreme ones among the Arhats, the essence of the teachings, the supreme lineage arises. According to the individual's intellect, the various vehicles, the one Dharma, even the number of eighty-four thousand, yet from the difference of cause and effect, the essence of the three aspects is one. This supreme lineage of ground, path, and fruit, is the basis of the teachings of the Tripitaka. With compassion like the sky, with the rays of the sun of the teachings, although the darkness of all has been dispelled, yet the eight unfree states torment beings. Because the two, cause and condition, are impure, the essence of the teachings

Now, giving does not appear, That one wanders in darkness without knowing. The essence of the Sugata pervades all beings, A rotten seed does not produce fruit. The Victorious One said that it is the extinction of lineage. From the Supreme Lineage, the Precious Heap, the basis of the teachings of all Buddhas, The first chapter, which is the basis of discussion and the instigation of discussion. Likewise, without self, free from elaboration, The emptiness that pervades all, The nature of reality that is always clear, Innate ignorance, latent in habit. It is nothing, a realm of darkness, Unknowing, suddenly impure, Self-awareness, the collection of thoughts unceasing, Like an eye with cataracts, Various completely imagined, ignorant delusions. From the single nature of space, By falsely imagining everything, There is no other agent, Imagining "I" where there is no "I," And grasping at objects where there are no others. Like the space in various vessels, Likewise, from the one suchness, the one and only, In what has never existed, in things, On various sudden deluded thoughts, In the essence, free from elaboration, Unrealized, appearing separately to the mind. In the nature of the two, grasper and grasped, Pleasure and pain arise from the two, attachment and aversion. The root of samsara is ignorance, The characteristic of samsara is actual delusion, The fruit of samsara is suffering. Ignorance, the basis of all, the alaya-consciousness, For all sentient beings in the three realms, That memory conceived as mind, By action, thought, and dualistic grasping, Feeling, combining with objects, From the aggregation of various unknowing things, Attachment to form arises by naming. In the internal and external sense bases, discriminating, Contaminated feeling is clung to, That itself is the close grasping of existence. Grasping, on the appearance of the two, appearance and mind, The suffering of existence, samsara, arises. With birth, manifestly, On the arising and ceasing of old age and death, without thought, The delusion of ignorance is a continuous chain, In order, lamentation and, Verbal lament, and in the mind, Various kinds of suffering and discomfort, Various afflictions agitate the mind, In the darkness without end or increase, Beings, inferior, middling, and supreme, Are under the power of their own causes and actions.
