Even when appearing in the desire realm, the body has no contamination. Even when appearing in the desire realm, the speech has no obstruction or diminution. Even when appearing in the desire realm, the mind has no birth or death. Even when appearing in the desire realm, the pure lands are not lost. The qualities of the Dharmakaya cannot be fully expressed by words. In the realm of ignorance and darkness, one hides oneself from oneself. By the method of self-hiding, cut off this darkness of ignorance. Glorious Vajradhara, please liberate us! Thus it was said. The eighth chapter, on the qualities of the outer tantras, is complete. Again, the glorious Vajradhara asked: O, O Secret Lord! Please explain the subtle and gross aspects of the outer tantra realm. Thus he asked. The Secret Lord spoke: Glorious Vajradhara, listen! The characteristic of the stable outer tantra realm is this: The great indivisibility of body and wisdom, When abiding in the state of indivisibility, is the characteristic of the ground. When dualistic thoughts arise, it is the characteristic of sentient beings. When indivisibility is manifest, it is the great fruit. The indivisibility of body and wisdom, When hidden from oneself due to non-realization, is also the basis of delusion. To the indivisibility of body and wisdom, To give a name to the nameless is also the basis of delusion. The increase of the imprints of names is the result of delusion. To the indivisibility of body and wisdom, By the indivisibility of unobstructed and non-unobstructed, To the different appearances and the same nature, Different names are given to the distinctions of unobstructed names. How are these names given? In the five colors of the qualities of the body, When the three wheels of wisdom's power are set in motion, The effort of the three wheels is the five distinctions of names. What are these five? Clarity, immovability, uninterruptedness, Immutability, and movement are given as examples. By the power of that movement, The mind that first wonders what it is, The mind that sees as if it is definitely yes or no, And finally, the mind that arises with certainty. Again, the mind that first wonders what it is has three aspects, What are these three? What arises in relation to the body, What arises in relation to the object, And what arises in relation to speech. Again, the mind that is yes or no has three aspects, What are these three? Seeing yes or no in relation to the body as a name, Seeing yes or no in relation to the object, And seeing yes or no in relation to speech as a name. Again, the mind that is certain

Mind has three aspects. What are those three? For the body, which originally had no name, a name is assigned, And for the name, a belief of certainty arises in the mind. For the place, which originally had no name, a name is assigned, And for the name, a belief of certainty arises in the mind. For the speech, which originally had no name, a name is assigned, And for the name, a belief of certainty arises in the mind. By assigning a name to the nameless, the habit of names increases. As the power of the habit of names increases, What is unreal appears as real. And how does that appear? For the great mandala of the qualities of the body, Names of five colors are assigned, mistaken for names. Mistaking them for names, one first clings to the names. Again, as the three wheels of the power of wisdom turn, The nature of mind has no place to rest from its movement, And to that great mandala, which originally had no name, a name is assigned. And how is that assigned? White and blue, Red and yellow, And the name of green, mistaken for five colors. One clings to the five colors and is mistaken by them. Again, as the three wheels of the power of wisdom turn, The five ungrounded movements have never experienced confusion, And the habit of the ungrounded mind greatly increases, For the clear and pure great mandala, White is assigned to the east, blue to the south, Red to the west, yellow to the north, Green to above and below and the four intermediate directions, names are assigned, As the power of the habit of names increases, One dwells in that and clings to that. Again, as the three wheels of the power of wisdom turn, the habit of power greatly increases, And one is mistaken for the place of the four extremes. Merely dwelling in the place of the four extremes, The habit of names greatly increases, And the darkness of names obscures the Buddha's pure lands. Not yet having become the object of the five senses, Because the Dharma nature has no hearing or speaking, one delights in meeting with meaning. Because the formless realm has no essence of body, one does not hear the speech of the Sage. The activity of mind clings to subtle and gross, and pushes thoughts to the extreme. The nature of mind, the image itself is the body of itself. Because of excessive desire for the formless, it is the formless realm. The outer appearance of the formless realm is, Four abodes that are neither other nor not other. The formless clings to mind and dwells in that. Again, as the three wheels of the power of wisdom turn, The habit of naming of mind greatly increases, And one is mistaken that the form realm is combined with light, even in the form realm, one dwells in the six classes of gods. Immeasurable.
