The Great Wisdom Lama Tantra. The Great Wisdom Lama Tantra. In Indian language: Jñānagurumahātantra (ज्ञानगुरुमहातन्त्र, jñānagurumahātantra, The Great Tantra of the Wisdom Guru). In Tibetan: The Great Wisdom Lama Tantra. Homage to the Bhagavan, glorious Vajrasattva! Thus have I heard, at one time, all the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Samyaksaṃbuddhas of the ten directions and three times, as many as there are who dwell and protect, and the Bodhisattvas who abide on the earth, the noble Arhats, the Śrāvakas, and Pratyekabuddhas, etc., all those who have become assemblies of humans and non-humans, who abide and protect the command and oath, all of you, listen attentively! In all the realms of the three-thousand great-thousand worlds, I have filled them with jewels, so do not suffer, do not be discouraged, do not be confused. Thus it was proclaimed. The realms of the three-thousand great-thousand worlds filled with jewels are exhaustible and empty, but, son of lineage, the essence of Bodhi, the wish-fulfilling jewel, is inexhaustible and never empty, never diminishes or disappears. I will reveal the treasure of the inexhaustible wish-fulfilling food, listen! Son of lineage, there is no path to go from the Buddha-ground to the Buddha-field. There is no wisdom to obtain the Wisdom-body from the Dharma-body. Son of lineage, there is neither attainment nor non-attainment of the fruit of unsurpassed wisdom. For the sake of the Prajñāpāramitā, in order to cut off ignorance with self-aware wisdom and to perfect the greatness of the Buddha, one should perfect the Prajñāpāramitā. The power and fearlessness of the Buddha, accomplishing the ultimate benefit of oneself and others, is the Pāramitā of Power. Then, the Bhagavan emitted five kinds of rays from the nostril, and from the essence of those rays, extracted the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani, abandoning the request, and proclaimed: Self-arisen from the realm of secrets, Lord of power, Vajradhara, Great Wrathful One, Vajrapani, Destroy wrong views with force! Having said this, the self-arisen Bhagavan is the essence of Bodhicitta.

Abiding inseparably. The source of all Tathagatas of the ten directions and three times, the body of pure nature. With the rays of compassion, the entire realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds abides without remainder, non-remainder, without any residue. Due to the wondrous qualities of body, speech, and mind, it is known as the great thousand, the general essence of all Buddhas. Because the body is wondrous, the mandala of the body is secretly wondrous; because the speech is wondrous, the mandala of speech is wondrous, proclaiming the cuckoo of speech wisdom; because the mind is wondrous, the mandala of the mind is seen with knowledge. Greatly compassionate, skillful in means, subduing the armies of others with power, profound wisdom arises from the expanse of intelligence, therefore uniting all dharmas with Suchness. The unsurpassed secret, the uncommon, the perfection of the wisdom of special contemplation, the unsurpassed fruit ripens in the continuum, gathering without separation into a single expanse, not abiding in awareness, uniting all that is not with what is, the existent is without self, the great wisdom abides immeasurably. The profound wisdom without separation towards all dharmas, the vast expanse, this is my self-arisen great wisdom, self-manifesting. All the realms of the three thousand great thousand worlds are gathered and subdued under the toe of my left foot. All the dharmas of samsara and nirvana are gathered in the seed of the difficult-to-fathom Kumuda flower of my profound wisdom. All sentient beings of the six realms, without remainder, all mundane and supramundane, are placed in the palm of my left hand, and that

Herein lies the first chapter as spoken by you. Homage to the Bhagavan, the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani. Thus have I heard at one time. The Bhagavan, the Great Vajradhara, from the expanse where the body does not abide, with the self-arisen wisdom shining with light. From the nostril's wind channel, from the five self-arisen lights, the emanation body, the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani himself arose. The Great Vajradhara then spoke: Vajrapani, listen to me. When going from the Buddha's realm to the Buddha's pure land, for the sake of contemplating the intention that liberates from the limits of Dharma, the tantra that gathers the intentions of all Buddhas, the Great Tantra of the Gathered Buddhas, the Wisdom Guru, is taught with seven main points. The first chapter: Vajrasattva entrusts the testament to the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani, and teaches that the vajra-like intention has no antidote. The second chapter: The Lord of Secrets asks Vajradhara about the Suchness of all Dharmas. The third chapter: Vajrapani gives instructions to the Bodhisattvas. The fourth chapter: It teaches that the special realization of the follower is recited to be liberated from the Dharma. The fifth chapter: It teaches that the realized being on the Vajra Throne becomes manifestly and completely enlightened. The sixth chapter: It teaches that there is no Buddha. The seventh chapter: It teaches that because there is no Buddha, Great Yoga has no fruit. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva asked a question: Great Compassionate One, is what is called the Suchness of all Dharmas uncreated? Is it non-dual? Is it equality? Is it unmoving? Is it spontaneously accomplished? Is it merely the clarity of awareness without thought? Is it merely the appearance of things without inherent existence? Is it emptiness? Is it knowing all phenomena as mere illusion? Is it the Suchness of all Dharmas that is unmoving like a sea of Samadhi, and awareness arises without thought? How is it so? I do not know, I do not understand. O you who possess compassion and skillful means, please prophesy to me. Thus he asked. Then the Bhagavan spoke: Vajrapani.
