The Tantra of the Wisdom Lamp. In Sanskrit: Jnana Dipa Tantra Nama. In Tibetan: The Tantra of the Wisdom Lamp. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! Thus have I heard at one time, in a spontaneously luminous mandala that was not drawn, the lifeless body, the self-existing Buddha, the great immutable light, the Sambhogakaya and Dharmakaya, abiding in the great all-pervading realization. Thus have I heard at one time, in the pure and dense realm of Akanishta, the noble Akashagarbha, exceedingly serene, with complete marks, surrounded by the retinue of Vajradhara, abiding in the luminous mandala of wisdom. At that time, the Lord of Secrets asked: O Bhagavan, what is meant by the perfectly complete Buddha? The Bhagavan then replied: O Lord of Secrets, listen! In the center of your own heart, the perfectly complete Buddha, the uninterrupted awareness, the Dharmakaya spontaneously accomplished, abides with the face and eyes of wisdom. The clear wisdom, the Sambhogakaya, abides with the face and eyes of wisdom. Appearing to those to be tamed, compassion arising, the Nirmanakaya, abides with the face and eyes of light. And the Nirmanakaya, abides with the face and eyes of rays. Thus spoke the Bhagavan. At that time, the Lord of Secrets asked: O Bhagavan, in the center of one's own heart, how does the Dharmakaya, spontaneously accomplished, abide with the face and eyes of wisdom? The Bhagavan replied: Lord of Secrets, in the center of one's own heart, the Dharmakaya does not abide in form, but abides in emptiness. Awareness is uninterrupted, abiding in clarity. Without obscuration, abiding in transparency. Spontaneously accomplished, abiding without contrivance. Thus spoke the Bhagavan. Again he asked: Bhagavan, in the center of one's own heart, how does the Dharmakaya, not abiding in form, abide in emptiness? The Bhagavan replied: Secret Lord, the Dharmakaya, not abiding in form, abides in emptiness, which is the very nature of one's own awareness, clear and bright, not abiding in any object or color, abiding in clear emptiness. O Secret Lord, with obstruction...
