The Indian Abbot Jñānagarbha and the Tibetan translator Vairocana translated, edited, and finalized it. Homage to the Bhagavan Vajrasattva! The Extensive Without Letters. With the uncommon retinue, etc. For example, like a sesame ball, it pervades from everywhere. Bodhisattva Vajra Dharma, etc., requested the Bhagavan to turn the wheel of Dharma without letters. From the Bhagavan, light arose from its own nature. The Sugatas appeared from their own nature. Then, intense radiance and other phenomena also arose from their own power. Then, those retinues praised the supreme Lord and requested: The supreme Lord is self-illuminating. Please, great Lord, speak. Please, great impartial one, speak. Please speak the letterless. Please speak of the expansion of self-nature. Please speak of the signless. From the Tantra of Self-Nature. The chapter of the retinue making requests is the first. The Bhagavan, the Lord of Bliss, appeared in the form of Vairocana. Having arisen from the samadhi of signlessness, he spoke: The means of generating wisdom in sentient beings. If you wish to attain great enlightenment. This tantra is difficult to realize. It is not to be seen by everyone. If you wish to listen well. Excellent, excellent, it accords with the meaning. Excellent, excellent, great enlightenment. Excellent, excellent, listen respectfully. Excellent, excellent, the request is excellent. This supreme means of great enlightenment. It is not visible to those of inferior intelligence. It is the field of activity of the most excellent. From the Expansion of Self-Nature. The chapter of the Lord pleasing the retinue is the second. Then, those retinues, having heard this letterless teaching that they had never heard before, were amazed. They requested the supreme Lord: Letterless, signless, elaboration. This great meaning without object. Never heard before, heard today. The meaning without seeking, today. Please, great impartial one, speak. From the Expansion of the Letterless. The chapter of the retinue's oath is the third. Then, the supreme Lord, having arisen from the samadhi of omniscience. Spoke this distinction of space. Sentient beings

The self-nature abides on the ground. The supreme order of means and, Both the elaborations of signs are all continuous. That which purifies the initial imprints, That goes to the root of all continuities. Abiding in the first thought, Color, ornament, and all pervade. Seeing is what the mind focuses on. This is worldly. Even in the transcendent there are two aspects. It goes into two: with signs and without signs. Signs, body, hands, are without self-nature. Without signs, unmade, is self-nature itself. It is separated from all seeking. Outer, inner, and secret three. Body, consciousness, and so on. Go into the sky that pervades all. The realm itself is the sky, and knowledge is. It is called the pure Dharma realm. From the great spontaneously arising, the fourth chapter, showing the distinctions of space. Then, the very pleased assembly, with palms joined to their faces, asked with one voice: Supreme Lord of the Sugatas, please explain the single intention. Then, the Sugata arose from the Samadhi of the profound realm and, knowing the intention of the assembly, spoke: The single intention is without signs, it cannot be pointed out as this or that. Even the Buddhas do not see it, how could it abide in the minds of sentient beings? Looking in a direction does not see it. In seeing itself, there is no seeing. It should be seen in the manner of not seeing. That is the supreme definitive meditation. That is the wheel of sleeping. When the mind looks at the mind, nothing is seen, it is clear. The single intention is that. From the great spontaneously arising, the fifth chapter, showing the single intention of the Sugata. Then, they requested the supreme Lord: Sugata, with the single, please explain the profound view. Please explain the distinctions of the holy ones. Please explain, supreme Lord. Please explain the profound Dharma realm. Please explain the general outpouring of wisdom. Then, that supreme Lord arose from the Samadhi of overpowering and spoke: Self-nature abides in all sentient beings. The secret resides in the causal continuum. Secret means hidden, because it does not appear in the minds of individuals. I will show you the profound and distinct view. What arises in the beginning is the great self-arisen awareness. In the unmade realm of Dharma, the moment of wisdom is secret. The mind's
