Moreover, when going out for temporary trivial matters, it is only for some matters of oneself and the friends who depend on oneself. Because there is no other purpose than that, it is like the example of the body. In the case of those three examples, there are one's own purpose and whatever purpose it is, and there is no understanding, hearing, or saying anything other than that, just as I have those purposes for which I went, and there is no understanding, hearing, or saying anything other than that, therefore I have set forth these three examples of water, boat, and body. Even if writing the meaning of water, boat, and body, how many shops' papers will be exhausted, and how many Khenpos' ink will be exhausted, but my wisdom will not be exhausted, and the meaning of water, boat, and body will not be exhausted. The old people said again: Om Mani Padme Hum Om! The Jewel in the Lotus!). Always experiencing suffering, the six realms of beings with compassionate eyes, the compassionate one who always gazes upon them, I prostrate with reverence to that protector. Here, some who write commentaries on tantras, connect the true words of the tantras like roots, meaninglessly to the end of the earth, and also add embellishments of words on top of that. The three, water, boat, and body, are contradictory in different situations, yet they write commentaries that are in accordance with the tantras. If one grasps the reason, water, boat, and body, explaining the words, tantras and treatises, etc., without the combination of power and lineage, twisting the words into the form of a forest, writing a heap of commentaries, if one examines it, one will find that the root and the commentary are unrelated, and there are many contradictions, but for the time being, I will not refute it, but if you want to do it again, it is enough to elaborate. So it is. Again, the answer to those words: In general, the three, teaching, debating, and writing, are indispensable for the leaders of monasteries, so you are also writing this article of debate, but the explanation of water, boat, and body is well-known among the many scholars in the upper monastery, the virtuous glory who explains the scriptures, the wisdom of meditation is deep and clear, like a butter lamp inside a vase, it has been decided from the depths of the heart, without gaining the confidence to withstand any refutation, one would not easily speak untested words. O virtuous glory, the explainer.

He possesses the wisdom to dissect hundreds of treatises, and the confidence to speak hundreds of words. If challenged beforehand, his vows are firm; he possesses the intelligence to accomplish his own desires. If challenged afterward, his reasoning in debate is sharp; he possesses the acumen to demolish the desires of others. The path of wisdom is like a blazing fire, and anything becomes his ally. That venerable, wise, and excellent one is the teacher of a thousand brilliant minds. He is the gathering place for many scholars, and examples also come from his mouth. It is extremely difficult to refute him. This six-syllable mantra, Mani Padma Jewel in the Lotus), is said to be the essence of the Dharma. It has spread throughout the land of Tibet; even old women know it, beggars recite it, and children write it. When scholars compose treatises, is there a way to incorporate the style of Mani? Those three root words have always been transmitted orally from ear to ear. It is said that no commentary other than his has ever been recorded in books. That which is without limit is what is to be proven, not what proves. The root lies in the lineage, and in the many instances of water, boat, and body, the connection has been vowed. If there is contradiction, it cannot be established; because there is a connection, it is a lineage. This is proclaimed like the wind throughout all the scriptures and teachings. The reasoning that purifies the scriptures is well-known in the presence of many scholars. More than reasoning, no further scripture is needed; even if it is needed, he has it. The black writing arranged in words is the common way of explaining the scriptures and teachings. It is something given as a method of practice. It may exist in some Nyingma and Bon rituals, but not elsewhere. If there are still many contradictions, if you want to elaborate, then elaborate; if not, then don't argue without intelligence. Auspicious! Auspicious! Auspicious! Explanation of the Water-Boat Principle.
