Collected Teachings of Je Tsongkhapa JTs59: A record, according to Je's words, of the rite for collecting and blessing the explicit and implicit mantras spoken in the Glorious Vajra Garland. A record, according to Je's words, of the rite for collecting and blessing the explicit and implicit mantras spoken in the Glorious Vajra Garland. Herein is the record, according to Je's words, of the rite for collecting and blessing the explicit and implicit mantras spoken in the Glorious Vajra Garland. I prostrate to and take refuge in the venerable and holy guru, inseparable from Manjushri (Jamyang), Je Tsongkhapa, the all-knowing! Please hold me with great compassion at all times! From the fifteenth and twenty-second chapters of the great yoga tantra 'Glorious Vajra Garland', concerning the method of collecting and blessing the three types of explicit and implicit letter mantras, there are three parts: preparation, main practice, and conclusion. First, the preparation stage has three parts: making the disciple a suitable vessel and pleasing the guru; writing down the mantras to be collected and collecting the mantras from them; and extensively offering the collected mantras with outer and inner offerings. First part: 'With gold and necklaces, clothes and jewels, excellent qualities, countless servants and laborers, and faith and reverence, etc., showing as desired, with hard-to-obtain accomplishments, the guru who reveals the meaning of the mantra, should be completely satisfied.' Thus, the disciple has received the complete initiation of Glorious Guhyasamaja, abides by the vows and precepts, possesses the oral instructions of the two stages, and pleases the guru with outer, inner, and secret offerings and wealth. Second part: After prostrating, the Vajra mantra holder, holding in the correct way, for the purpose of the fruit, with a pen of human bone, or with the earth shining with jewels, or with the ashes of the charnel ground, applying well, will grant accomplishments. First, receive the initiation, and then arrange the mandala etc. in front. In order to dispel obstacles, give the torma offering in a large temple. In order to accomplish body, speech, and mind, collect the unparalleled mantra. First, write the first letter, and perfectly combine it with the five vowel letters, and combine it with the end of the last group, this is said to be the seed syllable of the body. Sanskrit Romanization: kāya bīja, Chinese literal meaning: body seed). Write the first letter twice, and combine it with the 'Ushma' part, collect the unparalleled mantra, this is the essence of speech vajra. Combine it with the 'Ushma' part, and perfectly combine it with the sixth vowel letter, and combine it with the end of each group, this is the essence of mind vajra.

As it is said: 'Including the ultimate boundary, the vajra state of mind is clear, the three vajra commitments of body, speech, and mind, also accomplish the three realms.' Having said that, purify the ground with five elixirs and cow's milk, and scatter the powder of five precious substances, or even the ashes of a charnel ground. On the base of scattering, draw the lines of a triangular dharma source, and in its center, draw an eight-petaled lotus of various colors, according to common practice. On the eastern petal, write the sixteen vowels Then, starting from there, on the seven petals, write completely the letters of the ka (ཀ), ca (ཙ), ṭa (ཊ), ta (ཏ), pa (པ), ya (ཡ), and śa (ཤ) consonant groups without omission. Having properly assembled the base in this way, either during the time of listening to the instructions of the two stages, or during the explanation of the tantras, the guru and the qualified disciple accomplish and offer the mandala. After enjoying the tsok, first receive the empowerment. 'In front, arrange the mandala and so on, destroy obstacles with the torma, and give alms in the great temple.' The meaning of this is to offer the ten wrathful deities and the fifteen directional protectors. Prepare well the outer and inner offering tormas, adorned with jewels. Completely perform the blessing ritual of the torma and the ritual of increasing merit, according to the text of the ritual. Abide in the firm pride of oneself as the wrathful Vajrasattva in three layers, and with the blue light of Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,藏文,हूँ,梵文天城体,hūṃ,梵文罗马拟音,吽,汉语字面意思) in the form of an iron hook, invoke the ten wrathful deities and the fifteen directional protectors with their retinues, and abide in the outer and inner directions. In the east of the inner offering is Yama, black, with Vairochana as his crown ornament, with three faces of black, white, and red, and six arms. The right hands hold a staff, a wheel, and a vajra. The left hands hold a lasso at the heart, make a threatening gesture, and hold a bell and a battle-axe. From his body, the fire of wisdom blazes, and in the midst of the flames, he abides in the manner of subduing all the wicked. Thus, clearly visualize the common and uncommon body color, ornaments, and attire, as described in the sadhana. In the east of the outer offering is the yellow vajra weapon, with a thousand eyes, riding on a white earth-protecting deity. The right hand holds a vajra, and the left hand makes a threatening gesture. And the earth goddess, yellow, abiding on a lotus, holding a lotus, and Indra and other worldly deities, are instantly absorbed into the clear light, and from the light arise as the form of union with the wisdom mother, and from her tongue arises a red one-pointed vajra, transformed from the syllable Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,藏文,हूँ,梵文天城体,hūṃ,梵文罗马拟音,吽,汉语字面意思). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
