Homage! To all the precious Dharma, I prostrate, offer, and take refuge. With actual offerings, mantras, clear visualization, and the power of faith, I offer all the clouds of offerings, and confess all sins and downfalls. I rejoice in virtue, urge, and pray. May this and all other virtues be dedicated to the great Bodhi. By the blessings of the truth of the precious Dharma, may I and others, from now until all lifetimes, completely accomplish all the pure Dharma of all the Buddhas, just as the Buddhas intended. Manjushri, the protector, Vajrapani, and the other thirty-six thousand sons of the Sugatas, having urged the Buddhas' intentions and initiated discussions, may all the benefits of the sutras as spoken, manifest to me here and now. May the protectors of the world, together with their retinues, also, as they promised in the past before the Teacher, avert enemies, harm, epidemics, etc., pacify all conflicts, increase happiness of body and mind, increase enjoyment, power, wealth, grain, and life, accomplish all wishes as desired, and always protect and guard without negligence. Om Namo Bhagavate Bhaishajyaguruvaiduryaprabharajaya Tathagataya Arhate Samyaksambuddhaya Tadyatha Om Bhaishajye Bhaishajye Mahabhaishajye Bhaishajye Rajasamudgate Svaha. Recite the long mantra, or alternatively: Tadyatha Om Bhaishajya Bhaishajye Mahabhaishajye Bhaishajye Rajasamudgate Svaha. Recite the short mantra as much as possible. Intoxicated by the demons of the five poisons of afflictions, for the helpless beings of the final five hundred, with compassion, Shakyamuni Buddha, for the compassionate aeon of the seven Buddhas of the degenerate age, spoke the sutra ritual, the source of benefit and happiness. The omniscient, glorious Shantarakshita, propagated the necklace of the king of sutra ritual empowerments. This is the essential essence of that, the wish-fulfilling jewel. Now, for those who are distracted, I, for the sake of a few faithful ones, have composed this. May this and all other pure virtues, may all beings, be joyfully held by the eight Sugatas. This is the essence of the Medicine Buddha Sutra ritual, called the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, composed by the Dharma speaker, Shakya monk Lobsang Chokyi Gyaltsen, at the great Dharma monastery.
