The three seeds show the fruit closely. That fruit is also empty, without coming, without going, not born by anyone, not stopped by anyone. Sister, all dharmas are naturally extinguished. Sister, for example, relying on wood, leather, and sticks, and relying on the efforts of the person who produces it, the sound of a drum arises. That sound of the drum, the past is also empty, the future is also empty, and the present is also empty. The sound does not reside in the wood, does not reside in the leather, does not reside in the stick, and does not reside in the human hand. However, due to that cause, the sound arises. Whatever that sound arises, it is also empty, without coming, without going, not born by anyone, not stopped by anyone. Sister, all dharmas are naturally extinguished. Sister, in the same way, all dharmas are merely the result of conditions, such as ignorance, craving, karma, and consciousness. If those dharmas exist, then death and rebirth arise. Whatever death and rebirth arise, it is also empty, without coming, without going, not born by anyone, not stopped by anyone. Sister, all dharmas are naturally extinguished. Sister, in this way, whoever knows well the nature of the drum sound, knows well emptiness. Whoever knows well emptiness, knows well nirvana. Whoever knows well nirvana, even though they apply terms with various kinds of names, they have no attachment to any object, saying, "This and that are mine," or saying, "Sentient being," or saying, "Life," or saying, "Sustainer," or saying, "Person," or saying, "Individual," or saying, "Born from a tree," or saying, "Child," or saying, "Doer," or saying, "Causer to do," or saying, "Receiver," or saying, "Abandoner." Without attachment, they teach the Dharma, teach the Dharma well, teach the true limit, and teach the true limit well. Sister, for example, a painter or a student of a painter, on a very well-cleaned cloth, or a wooden board, or a wall that has been very well-cleaned, applies various colors and creates whatever forms they desire, such as the form of a man or the form of a woman.

Or the form of a cow, or the form of an elephant, or the form of a horse, or the form of a donkey, those forms with all their parts, minor parts, and senses complete, are manifested and drawn with very little effort. Although they can be manifested, there is no dharma in them that has been transferred from the hand or mind of the painter to the image. However, because of this cause, the image appears. And that image that appears is also empty, without coming, not created by anyone, and not prevented by anyone. Sister, all dharmas are by nature ceased. Sister, similarly, if there are manifest formations that tend towards merit, for example, in gods or humans, bodies that tend towards merit are manifestly accomplished. However, there is no transfer from this world to another world, not even a particle exists. However, because of the cause of manifest formations, there are various kinds of births. Because there are places of birth, the body is distinguished. Similarly, if there are formations that tend towards non-merit, for example, in sentient hells, or animal realms, or the world of Yama, or Asuras, non-meritorious bodies are manifestly accomplished. However, there is no transfer from this world to another world, not even a particle exists. However, because of the cause of manifest formations, there are various kinds of births. Because there are places of birth, the body is distinguished. Sister, for example, the Nagas, by the power of the Nagas, cause great clouds to arise, and after those nets of clouds have covered, great rains fall extensively, and even though great rains fall extensively, they fill the hills and valleys, and after the hills and valleys are filled, they disappear again. However, those clouds do not arise from the body or mind of the Nagas, but the Nagas themselves, by the power of the Nagas, naturally cause great clouds to arise.

That is to say, beings in hell, or the birthplace of animals, or the world of Yama, or the Asuras, even though the body that approaches with non-virtue is manifestly accomplished, yet, for this, what is to be manifested is also empty, the agent of manifestation is also empty, and the fruit of manifestation is also empty. Sister, if there is an unwavering approach to manifestation, in the formless realms, consciousness connects, and with what consciousness does that connection in the formless realms is also empty, and that which connects consciousness in the formless realms is also empty. Why is that? Sister, all dharmas are empty by their very nature, but dharmas are designated. The wise do not manifestly cling to this, and because there is no manifest clinging, they do not quarrel. Non-contention is the supreme Dharma of a Shramana. Request. Thus, the Blessed One taught the profound Dharma, and the Blessed One, I also generate the eye of wisdom in these Dharmas, and again there is no hesitation, no doubt. Blessed One, I had doubts because I had not heard these Dharmas before. Now I am old, I am decrepit, I am suffering, I am poor, I have no protector, I do not live and I do not die. Blessed One, having heard this Dharma, here there is no old age or poverty, pleasure or sickness without disease, wealth or poverty, thus I have become separated from the thought of self. Then, the Venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, for what reason did the Blessed One teach such a profound category of Dharma? He also sought it well, and I think this woman is endowed with merit, wise and of the nature of wisdom. The Blessed One said: Ananda, so it is, so it is. Ananda, as you have said, so it is, this woman is endowed with merit, wise and of the nature of wisdom. Ananda, this woman has been my mother for five hundred lifetimes, and Ananda, in those lifetimes I also caused this woman to generate roots of virtue in unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment.
