Some excerpts on how to recite Mani. Some excerpts on how to recite Mani. Visualize clearly in the sky in front of you the embodiment of all refuges, Avalokiteśvara. It is said that mere faith is sufficient. Visualize that countless rays of light emanate from the body of Avalokiteśvara, striking all sentient beings, both self and others, purifying all non-virtuous causes and suffering results, and ultimately leading to enlightenment. It is said that reciting the Mani in this state encompasses refuge, bodhicitta, dedication, and aspiration. It is said that whatever virtue one performs at any time, even a single moment of virtuous thought, or even just joining one's palms together, whatever it may be, the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and conclusion are all important. It is said that the root of virtue encompassed by these three aspects will not be destroyed by anger, nor will it be severed by wrong views. ༈ Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ. (Tibetan: ༀ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Om Mani Padme Hum) The syllable Oṃ is the reality of the three vajra bodies, separate yet united, guiding all mantras that invoke the Buddhas. Maṇi is non-conceptual, raining down immeasurable Dharma in the world, it is wisdom. Padme is great compassion, free from the dust of attachment. Hūṃ is the adornment of the three realms of existence, a sign of calling. The syllable Hūṃ is the supreme destroyer of the suffering of samsara. By reciting the root mantra with one-pointed mind, one awakens the samaya, light radiates from all the places of the body, moving the compassion of the Buddhas, purifying the obscurations of beings, blessing one's own continuum, perfecting the two benefits, and attaining accomplishment. Recite in this way. The visualization during the turning of the wheel: Visualize that rays of wisdom light emanate from the syllables of the wheel, offering to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Visualize that the light gathers back, and the blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and the common and supreme accomplishments, dissolve into the wheel. Visualize that the light radiates outward, striking all sentient beings of the six realms, purifying all non-virtuous causes and suffering results, and ultimately leading to enlightenment. It is said that turning the wheel in this state has immeasurable benefits. It is said that one must be encompassed by such visualizations. Whether one is dead or alive, it is the same. If performing rituals for the living or the sick, one must generate bodhicitta, with the patient's master as the primary focus. Especially for the dying, if one thinks of attachment, aversion, and ignorance at the pillow, that will not elevate one, but rather cause one to sink. Therefore, the appearances of the dying

If one understands through intellect and generates wrong views, one will fall into the lower realms. If one is a practitioner, it is said that it is beneficial to perform transference without confusion by reciting the names of the Buddhas and special dharani mantras while practicing. Furthermore, whatever is on oneself, like a child born from one's own body, is a louse. If one kills a louse, it is said that one violates the three vows of individual liberation, bodhisattva, and tantra, and that it arises due to attachment to blood relatives, parents, etc. If one kills a louse by freezing it, it is said that it becomes the cause of falling into the eight cold hells. If one crushes it with one's fingernails, it is said that it becomes the cause of falling into the crowded hells. Especially for monks, it is said that it is important to be cautious about this. As a sign of rigpa (awareness), it is said that a self-generated thought does not arise. It is said that there should not be any mistakes or even a trace of mental defilement. All thoughts must arise as the embodiment of rigpa, it is said. For example, just as there is no room for darkness when the sun rises, it is said that when rigpa itself arises, all thoughts will arise as the embodiment of rigpa. How to cultivate mindfulness and awareness: If you find mindfulness, you find meditation; if you lose mindfulness, you lose meditation. Mindfulness and awareness mean cultivating mindfulness in a state of knowing and understanding, it is said. There should be relaxation in meditative equipoise. In that state, all manifestations naturally dissolve without the opportunity to accumulate karmic imprints, which is called post-meditation. During activities, it is said that one needs to gather awareness. Mipham Rinpoche said: "Instructions are like a child's game, but the necessity is like Mount Meru and the ocean." Furthermore, in the state of characteristic meditative equipoise, the power of the object-possessing wind-mind, etc., also purifies the illusions created by it, it is said. These illusions are newly arisen and sudden. They do not exist in the initial ground state, they do not exist in the final fruition state, and they do not exist in the path state of a yogi. When rigpa abides in its nature, these illusions do not bring any harm, there is no wavering, and there is no loss. Know that there is nothing but a sudden appearance of non-existence. These sudden illusions do not exist, it is said. For example, just as a jaundiced person sees a conch shell as yellow, just as a person with cataracts sees hairs in their vision, just as a preta (hungry ghost) sees water as pus and blood. This is also due to the karmic imprints of illusion.
