He was regarded as a rude and barbaric person, and all the villagers were afraid and fearful of him. Moreover, everyone slandered him by calling him "A-dzi's madman." Once, Geshe Gyalpo went to Chuwar (ཆུ་དབར་, place name) for summer retreat, and he piled up many trees at a narrow intersection, so that all the officials' mounts and mules, etc., were dragged to the ground, but no accidents occurred. Also, there was a lake called "Black Sea" in that place, which was said to be inhabited by a fierce dragon. Even shouting loudly by the lake would cause hailstorms, but he led many children there and piled up many boulders, and no disturbance occurred, etc. There were many miraculous deeds, but not many people believed them. In addition, he also robbed the herdsmen of their food to eat, beat them and used them as servants, etc. Later, it was understood that most of what he did was actually to eliminate obstacles in life. At that time, in the place of Tare (ཏཱ་རེའི་, place name), there lived a great accomplished master named Hor Lama Zhenpen Woser (གཞན་ཕན་འོད་ཟེར་), who was said to be the incarnation of the great accomplished master A-tsara Sale (ཨ་ཙར་ས་ལེ). With the foresight to see the three times of Sale, he taught him the primer of reading, etc., and helped him with many skillful actions. He became an extraordinary lama, and his kindness was clearly stated in later petitions. Thus, he lived in his hometown with uncertain behavior until the age of eighteen. Initially, about being born in Dokham Yukhok (མདོ་ཁམས་གཡུ་ཁོག་, place name) and being accepted by Lama Hor Lama Zhenpen Rinpoche (གཞན་ཕན་རིན་པོ་ཆེ), who introduced him to Buddhism.
