The Excellent Differentiation of Emptiness. The Excellent Differentiation of Emptiness. The Excellent Differentiation of Emptiness abides. Om Guru Buddha Bodhisattvabhyaḥ Namo Namaḥ! (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) The Differentiation of Emptiness called Excellent. I prostrate and take refuge in the profound emptiness equal to the eight-line verse. Sixteen lotus petals, sixteen charnel grounds, sixteen hands and sixteen pillars, sixteen great categories, sixteen emptinesses. Having bowed, I write the Excellent Differentiation of Emptiness. In all the flawless treatises of the Complete Stage, regarding the emptinesses spoken of, if one does not understand the distinctions such as the two truths, then the emptiness of other-emptiness cannot be understood, because all emptinesses are only self-emptiness. Therefore, relying on the poisonous tree of wrong views that considers the emptinesses spoken of in terms of such categories as Thusness to be only self-emptiness, many branches of various wrong views will grow profusely. Therefore, this is composed for the purpose of showing this meaning to those who are not skilled. All the emptinesses spoken of are not only self-emptiness, but there is a distinction between the emptiness of other-emptiness which is profound and the emptiness of self-emptiness which is not profound. Again, there are two types: the emptiness that is ultimate and the emptiness that is conventional. Again, there are two types: the emptiness that is perfectly established and the emptiness that is imputed. Again, there are two types: the emptiness that is not Madhyamaka and the emptiness that is not extreme. Again, there are two types: the emptiness that is naturally inherent and the emptiness that is artificial and adventitious. Again, there are two types: the emptiness that is the profound nature of phenomena and the emptiness that is the non-profound characteristic of phenomena. Again, there are two types: the emptiness of the unborn and the emptiness of the born. Again, there are two types: the emptiness of the non-empty and the emptiness of the empty. Again, there are two types: the emptiness of other's objects and the emptiness of one's own objects. Again, there are two types: the emptiness of the nature of non-things and the emptiness of non-things. Again, there are two types: the emptiness that possesses all supreme aspects and the aggregates.

It is emptiness where examination ceases. Again, there are two aspects: the emptiness of being the supreme other, the first and foremost Buddha of the other shore, and the emptiness of being this, the outer and inner conventional, the accidental. Again, there are two aspects: the emptiness of the basis of emptiness, which is not a negation, possessing many qualities, and the emptiness of merely emptiness, which is not a negation discarded by merely accomplishing the Dharma. Again, there are two aspects: the emptiness of not being empty by oneself, but being empty by all other phenomena, and the emptiness of being empty by one's own essence. Similarly, there are two emptinesses of whether or not the nature of phenomena is the nature of phenomena, two emptinesses of whether or not the state of phenomena is the state of phenomena, two emptinesses of whether or not phenomena are without fault, two emptinesses of whether or not it is thusness, two emptinesses of whether or not it is unconfused thusness, two emptinesses of whether or not it is other than thusness, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the ultimate truth, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the inconceivable realm, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the imperishable nature of phenomena, two emptinesses of whether or not it is always dwelling in equanimity, two emptinesses of whether or not the omniscient wisdom is unconditioned, two emptinesses of whether or not all phenomena are equality, two emptinesses of whether or not all phenomena are one taste of many flavors, and two emptinesses of whether or not all phenomena are naturally virtuous, blameless, without outflows, without afflictions, purified, transcendent, and unconditioned. Two emptinesses of whether or not it is a nature lineage with many distinctions and collections, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Sugata-garbha with many qualities, similarly, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Great Madhyamaka, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Great Seal, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Great Nirvana, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Great Light, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Great Enlightenment, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Profound Prajnaparamita, two emptinesses of whether or not it is the Profound Cessation of Truth, and two emptinesses of whether or not it is extremely free from elaboration.
