The Clear Illumination of the Categories of Mudras in the Sadhana and Commentary of the Kalachakra. The Clear Illumination of the Categories of Mudras in the Sadhana and Commentary of the Kalachakra. The Clear Illumination of the Categories of Mudras in the Sadhana and Commentary of the Kalachakra is present. Om Namah Shri Kayachakraya. Having bowed to the Kalachakra, which is greatly embraced by the great mudra, here are explained the categories of mudras related to its sadhana. That is, the changing of the hands is a mudra. The kneading of the fingers is also the same. As it is said, the left and right hands are the nature of method and wisdom, and their fingers, namely the thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger, are in order the nature of the five families. They are the collection of the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, by the power of the qualities of smell, form, taste, touch, and sound. First, for the all-pervading, all-going, six Victorious Ones, the mudra is: both hands make the vajra fist, with the thumbs clasped, placed on the right and left thighs in the vajra posture. This is the mudra of Vajrasattva, the lord of the Victorious Ones. Above the lotus posture, the left hand is face up, and the right hand is face down on the knee, touching the earth. This is the mudra of Akshobhya. The others are the same as above, but the right hand is face up. This is the supreme generosity mudra of Ratnasambhava. In the lotus posture, the right hand is face up on the left hand, held evenly. This is the samadhi mudra of Amitabha. The left hand remains as before, and the right hand is on the right knee, in the form of bestowing fearlessness. This is the fearlessness-bestowing mudra of Amoghasiddhi. The index finger of the left fist is upward, entering the right fist, and placed at the heart. This is the supreme enlightenment mudra of Vairochana. Similarly, the other Dharma Wheel mudra is: the index fingers and thumbs of both hands are joined, making a ring. The fingernails of the left hand are gathered, and the right hand shows the gesture of the fingernails being gathered, with the middle fingers and others extended, and the ring finger and little finger slightly directed upward.

It resides in the heart. Then, for protecting all lineages, removing the stains of sin, and transforming purity into the ultimate, the supreme mudra, the mudra of the five-pointed vajra, is as follows: The left hand visualizes the moon from the short vowel generation stage, and the right hand visualizes the sun from the long vowel absorption stage. Combining the two, visualize the five-pointed vajra arising from the syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and with both hands joined, the thumbs are joined, and the little fingers are also joined. The two middle fingers are extended straight in the center and joined. Behind them, the two index fingers are half-bent in the shape of a crescent moon, and the ring fingers are curled and placed inside the hand. Whatever action is to be closely connected, it should be connected by the power of merit. Thus, blessing objects, becoming great armor, and so on, possesses immeasurable benefits. Similarly, with all five fingers of both hands, each raising the middle finger in the center, and the other four fingers supporting from around, this is another vajra mudra, meaning to embrace wisdom. The hands form vajra fists, with the interlocked right and left hands entering one above the other, close to the arms, and resting on the joints of the arms. Similarly, the left hand also forms a vajra fist and remains, this is the mudra of the wrathful lord, the vajra force. Similarly, the two fists of the right and left hands are joined back to back, one above the other, and the little fingers and index fingers are each formed into the shape of iron hooks, residing in the heart. This is the mudra of the lord who completely triumphs over the three realms. In order to establish the six mudras and so on, the right and left hands are joined back to back, one above the other, and the fingers are spread out, held near the left ear, and conversely, held near the left ear, this is the mudra of the earrings. The hands touch the tips of the three middle fingers together, and the thumbs and little fingers form fists, holding them at the waist, this is the mudra of the belt. The right and left hands are joined back to back, one above the other, and the fingers are intertwined, holding them in a hanging manner at the neck, this is the mudra of the necklace. The hands place the thumbs against each other.
