Initially virtuous mind. Initially virtuous mind. Homage and prostration. Homage to the Triple Gem). To Lokeshvara, homage, homage!). This is called "Clearly Illuminating the Tenets of the Great Non-Extreme Madhyamaka," the Fifth Council. I prostrate to Chenrezig, who has become the supreme deity! Infinite wisdom, possessing fearless confidence. The undiluted Dharma, like the sky, is free from arising and ceasing. Primordially spontaneously accomplished, ultimately not deceiving. I take refuge in the ultimate Dharma Kaya. Like sound and image, the melodious sixty qualities are proclaimed. Like illusion, immeasurable deeds are shown. Like a dream, sentient beings are liberated. I also take refuge in the temporary, non-deceptive Rupakaya. The Lord Maitreya, the regent of Dharma. The Lord Manjushri, the master of wisdom. The Lord Avalokiteshvara, the master of compassion. I prostrate to those who are masters of power and strength! The brothers Asanga, skilled in distinguishing between provisional and definitive meanings. The master and disciples Nagarjuna, skilled in distinguishing between the two truths. Dignaga and Dharmakirti, skilled in distinguishing between valid and invalid reasoning. I prostrate to those who opened the chariot path! The Buddha's words and the stainless treatises, Those who bore the burden of translating them into this land of Tibet, The kind kings, ministers, translators, and panditas of the past, I prostrate to the incarnate holy beings! Sapan and others, skilled in teaching, debating, and writing, Dolpopa and others, who saw the nature of reality as it is, Buton and others, who knew all the teachings as they are, I bow to the guides of beings in this degenerate age! Commitment to compose. The basis of Madhyamaka, where the union of the two truths abides. The path of Madhyamaka, which accomplishes the union of the two accumulations. The result of Madhyamaka, which is the union of the two kayas. The Madhyamaka tenets, which distinguish between being free from the two extremes. Preliminary words. Furthermore, in the praise surpassing the gods by the teacher Devakara, it is said: I do not take sides with Buddhism, Nor do I hate the Serskyas and others, Whatever words are endowed with reason, I completely accept and proclaim them. And, where there is no fault, Where all qualities are present, Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, That is also my teacher. As it is said, I also do not take sides with the Jonangpas. Nor do I hate the Shalu school.

That which does not contradict reason, completely hold that very tenet. For that which has no faults at all, and possesses all virtues, the spiritual friends of Jonang and Shalu, etc., are all my teachers. In the "Superior Praise of the Master, the Noble Accomplisher," it also says: Because the world delights in faults, and is weak in holding virtues, faults are also seen as virtues, and they turn to seek refuge in others. Thus, the gods and Brahmins of the world, as well as the Vedas and Shakyas, saying that hatred is their own fault, why do they not contemplate it? Thus it is said, beings of the degenerate age are attached to faults, and because they hate holding virtues, they also see inverted tenets as good, and turn to follow the inverted. Saying that the third turning of the wheel is provisional, and the Jonang tenet, Samkhya, etc., saying that hatred is their own fault, why do they not contemplate it? Furthermore, to dissect tenets, and to make one's own mind understand, and to explain to others, and to establish and refute with pure reasoning, one must possess these qualities: to be able to see the vast realm of the scriptures, not to be attached to the words of various treatises, not to fear the army of ignorant mobs, not to rely on the model of a self-righteous castle, not to be swayed by the old habits of inverted tenets, not to be defiled by the stain of jealousy that arises from the depths of one's heart towards the perfect virtues of others, just as a cloth stained with oil cannot be changed by dye, not to judge the truth or falsehood of tenets, but to be free from the inverted attachment of not understanding the Dharma due to clinging to one's own side. Because it is seen that due to hatred towards Mahayana practitioners, the Dharma is also established in an inverted way, therefore, do not mix attachment and aversion towards people with the Dharma. Starting from the three turnings of the wheel of Dharma, be skilled in distinguishing between provisional and definitive meanings, and the two truths. Even if it is in accordance with one's own wishes, if it does not agree with the pure words of the Buddha, one can abandon it like food mixed with poison. Even if the other person is evil, if one sees pure and excellent speech, one can take it like honey from a thorn tree. For one's own
