TILO25 Instructions of Tilopa: Eight Inconceivable Mahamudras Also known as Eight Names of Yoga The Nature is Inconceivable Eight Inconceivable Mahamudras Also known as Eight Names of Yoga In Sanskrit: Achantra Mahamudra Nama. In Tibetan: The Great Seal, Inconceivable. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! The nature of phenomena, unproduced and unceasing, is clear light. The path of Mahamudra is beyond words, thought, and expression. It is free from conceptualization and beyond the mind's activity. Profound and uncompounded, I pay homage. Emaho! Vajra indivisible, free from birth and death, powerfully taming beings of the three realms, like a lamp in a dark treasure, dispelling self-awareness in the sheath of ignorance. The root of all dharmas is bodhichitta, because its nature is non-dual. The nature of mind is self-arisen wisdom, unmixed, the complete mind of the Victorious Ones. When that very thing is realized as it is, it is called a Buddha. In the mandala that has existed from the beginning, the mandala of emanation appears without fabrication. The yogi who realizes it in this way has no effort in the expanse. He rests in the state of stainless liberation. This alone is the intention of the Victorious Ones. The mandala and so forth, the gathering and scattering, arise naturally without being deliberately made. The wonders of the clear light, like waves in water, are inconceivable. Therefore, all kinds of phenomena, leave them as they are, without fabrication. The natures of the five afflictions and so forth, arise as great wisdom of liberation. The teaching that manifests that very thing is the wheel adorned with inexhaustible ornaments. The nature of benefiting beings is spontaneously accomplished, without the appearance of dualistic perceptions. All phenomena that appear in this way are non-dual with the expanse and wisdom. From the various thoughts of samsara, arise the body and wisdom of the Victorious Ones. The womb of the unborn nature is the space of the father that appears without breaking. Thus, the bliss of non-duality is the intention of the yogi's awareness. The entrustments of awareness of what to do and what to do are non-dual with skillful means and wisdom. These three poisons of samsara are spontaneously accomplished, unfabricated, body, speech, and mind. The nature of compounded aggregates is the state of stainless liberation. The wheel of various appearances, the conduct of nature is the friend of illusion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The supreme secret Great Vehicle, Is the ultimate method and wisdom. Appearance and non-appearance are non-dual, Freedom from grasping is all there is. Abide as it is, uncorrected mind itself, Without distraction, without fabrication. Therefore, the essence of secrecy, Transcend the realm of expression by words. In that solitary hermitage of one's own body, Hold the outer, inner, and secret implements. Mind itself is a precious wish-fulfilling gem, Appearing like the sky, free from attachment. The yogi who transforms appearances, In the various activities of self-nature, Appears like a magical delight, But in reality, it does not change and is not grasped. The great self is the mind of the Victorious Ones, Does one who desires to realize it rejoice? The three realms are primordially the body of the Victorious Ones, Samsara and nirvana are non-dual. The Victorious Ones of the three times are one's own mind, Free from the need for effort and striving. In the absence of distinction between happiness and suffering, What is the need for abandoning and adopting signs? That very nature is utterly clear, without grasping, Without grasping, free from philosophical views. When the mirror of the mind is clear, The view of the mantra holder is equanimity. Abiding within oneself, not elsewhere, Continuously abiding, its depth unfathomable. Free from effort and accomplishment, pervading all, Seeing it directly is the kindness of the guru. The basis of mind itself, unborn and free from elaboration, Free from color, shape, and awareness. Profound and vast, endowed with clarity, All that is stable and moving arises in that way. All these beings are Buddhas, Though clarity is present, there is no realization. Mind itself is a precious jewel, Like a fledgling garuda in its shell. The noble person who pleases the holy ones, Fulfills the meaning of the Sugata's intention. The three poisons are transformed into body, speech, and mind, Proceeding like a courageous lion. The great secret yogi of the Great Vehicle, Whatever conduct is practiced, Is without accumulation, transformation, acceptance, and grasping, Entering the secret of the great mandala. In body, speech, qualities, and activities, Luminous wisdom is equally accomplished, Accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, Compassionately striving to liberate the three realms. From the delight of playful wisdom, Expounding the profound and vast vehicle. Integrating the inexhaustible. Thus, the yogi who equalizes, The yoga master Tilopa, in the palace of King Goriśvari, the instruction to the yogi, called 'Inconceivable Self-Nature'. Athī (ཨྠཱྀི, Devanagari: अथी, Romanization: athī, Literal meaning: Now) Inconceivable Activity Cutting through malice, the expanse of great wisdom, I prostrate to the blazing, terrifying Heruka. Endowed with skillful means --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
