Merge into the essence of the earth, purify the sins of the mind, fill the body with the nectar of wisdom, and receive the empowerment of wisdom awareness. Visualize the empowerment symbol—a blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Seed Syllable) at the heart, and place the Torma (藏文:གཏོར་མ,汉语字面意思:offering cake) in front of you. Then recite: 'Emaho!' etc., 'May the blessings of the Guru enter the mind, may the obscurations of the mind be cleared, and may I receive the empowerment of the unborn Vajra!' Recite: 'Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Guru Deva Joki Ḍākinī Citta Balinta Ābhiṣiñca Hūṃ Hūṃ Hūṃ (藏文:ཨཱོྃ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་གུ་རུ་དེ་བ་ཛོ་ཀི་ཌཱ་ཀི་ནཱི་ཙིཏྟ་བ་ལིནྟ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:ओम् आः हुं गुरु देव जोकी डाकिनी चित्त बलिन्त आभिषिञ्च हुं हुं हुं,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ guru deva jokī ḍākinī citta balinta ābhiṣiñca hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Om Ah Hum Guru Deva Yogini Dakini Citta Balinta Abhishintsa Hum Hum Hum)' The fourth empowerment: Everyone blesses with the sound of 'Hūṃ Hūṃ Hūṃ' and music, enhancing the experience. Recite 'Phaṭ (藏文:ཕཊ,汉语字面意思:cut)' forcefully and relax the body and mind. 'O fortunate ones, do not chase after past thoughts, do not anticipate future thoughts, and at this moment, let the arising and dissolving of thoughts rest naturally. At this time, the outer appearances are clear and unobstructed, the inner awareness is naked and non-conceptual, and the body and mind experience a state of bliss. Look at the nature of this state, it is emptiness, without substance, without trace, without root, completely open, without contraction or expansion. Recognizing the nature of this awareness is called obtaining the 'Word Empowerment'. As it is said in the Secret Sound Tantra: 'Self-born awareness is the empowerment of meaning, clear and transparent, light and free, like the autumn sky. Dharmakaya is the single empowerment of meaning.' Therefore, recognizing that one's own mind is inherently Buddha, and resting in that recognition, there is nothing else to practice. No matter when or where, a perfect Buddha cannot be found elsewhere. The mind itself is the perfect Buddha, do not seek the Buddha elsewhere, even if you seek, you will not find it.' As mentioned above, the first three empowerments are about the stages of the path of form, and the last empowerment is about the stages of the path of formlessness. Through the path of generation and completion stages, one is empowered to attain the state of the four Kayas. This is symbolized by the burning precious Torma. The first three empowerments, by perceiving the Torma as the deity and the mandala, symbolize the meaning of the empowerment of form. In the fourth empowerment, the Torma symbolizes: the ground—Samsara and Nirvana are inseparable, the path—the union of skillful means and wisdom, the fruit—the three Kayas are inseparable.' Thus, the symbolic meaning is introduced. Afterwards, clearly visualize the form of the deity, visualize the rosary of mantras flowing from the Guru's heart, entering the disciple's mouth, and dissolving into the seed syllable at the heart. Then recite the mantra three times, giving the transmission and blessing. Dissolve the deities of the Torma into their respective hearts. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ma la! In the space before you, visualize the Torma (gtor ma, offering cake) transforming into clouds of the five desirable qualities, and offer and praise the clearly manifested mandala of the Three Roots. Finally, contemplate the Torma becoming the substance of accomplishment—the immortal nectar, and with each bite of the Torma and each sip of the nectar in the Kapala (ka pa la, skull cup), regard it as receiving blessings, and pledge vows, offer the mandala, etc. Afterwards, release the Torma, perform the thanksgiving offering and praise, the gathering, the aspiration prayer and auspicious wishes, etc., according to whatever appropriate ritual is convenient. This is the unerring Vajra speech of the future, truly the meaning of the Guru Sadhana (bla sgrub) extracted from the Nyang treasure, a compilation of the essential recitations of the All-Knowing Dharma Lord's (Kunmkhyen Chosrje) excellent teachings. This is the chapter on the Torma empowerment related to the Nyang tradition's Guru Peaceful Sadhana.
