(Dharma Protector Mind Assembly, Empowerment Ritual) Da Bao Fuzang TD1472, from the 'Five Essential Sections of Profound Dharma,' this is titled 'The Empowerment Ritual of the Essence of the Mind Assembly of Dharma Protectors - Sky Iron Reforged.' Lord of the Assembly, Venerable of the Assembly, Heruka. Emerged as the fierce form of the Dharma Protector. The feet of the inseparable Lord of the Mandala. Place upon the crown of the head, and grant the blessing. If a mantra practitioner who has previously practiced the approach and accomplishment of any of the Eight Commands (Ka Gye) wishes to bestow the essence of this empowerment upon a few disciples who possess vows and faith in the teachings, then in a secluded place, smear a triangular platform with poison blood, and arrange a mandala according to the text; if not complete, then on a mandala plate, arrange a group of black beans representing the five main deities and their retinue, surrounded by eight offerings, and in an iron or skull cup, place a red torma, surrounded by arm bones, with many hooks around the five main deities and their retinue, and erect a wrathful and adorned main deity statue, covered with a blue silk canopy. To the right and left, place mantras and hand symbols, and khatvanga and skull cup tsaklis. In front, arrange the three offerings of medicine, blood, and torma. Arrange wrathful implements. Also, gather the activity vase and other items. Then, with refuge, bodhicitta, and accumulation of merit preceding, perform the blessing, demarcation, and offering from the treasure text's ritual manual. Generate oneself as the protector Heruka, and recite the root mantra 'oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra mahā guru heruka hūṃ phaṭ' approximately one hundred and eight times, and also recite the protective mantra 'oṃ vajra drolo drolo hūṃ phaṭ' approximately twenty-one times. Then, visualize the front supports as the main deities and retinue of the Mind Assembly of Dharma Protectors, and perform the ritual from invocation to praise. During the accomplishment phase, recite the four types of mantras and visualizations as appropriate. Finally, recite the common and comprehensive 'Shasana' to the best of one's ability. Perform the tsok offering and praise. Bless the activity vase with the mantra, making it nectar. Throw the flower of wisdom and request permission. After that, bathe the disciple. Cast the obstacle-removing torma. Perform the blessing and demarcation. Clearly generate bodhicitta. Know that, in order to subdue the stubborn and difficult-to-tame beings who cannot be subdued by peaceful deities, the Five Buddhas and their consorts manifest as wrathful deities, the Five Heruka Fathers and Mothers. Moreover, in order to protect the teachings of the Buddha, they manifest as extremely fierce and terrifying --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those great black-bodied figures appearing as siblings are the Dharma protectors of wisdom. Their essence emanates from wisdom, manifesting as arrogant forms, like autonomous lineages. Having heard the Dharma from glorious Heruka (deity name) and the emanated body of the Buddha, realizing the truth, and abiding by the commands and vows, they are Dharma protectors accomplished through karma. And those arrogant beings and spirits belonging to the self-existing world, possessing power, prowess, and splendor through the strength of past aspirations and virtues, were subdued by the previous Vidyadharas (knowledge holders), given Vajra vows, and appointed to protect the teachings, known as worldly Dharma protectors. In summary, if all are categorized, they can be divided into male, female, and neuter lineages. These three lineages protect the entire Buddhadharma, gathered into one mandala, which is the essence of Gongpa Düpa (Mind Accomplishment of the Dharma Protectors). And this profound and condensed essence is also the emanation of the son of the glorious goddess, the vow-holder Chökyi Lodrö (Dharma Wisdom), the great Terton (treasure revealer) Orgyen Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa, who tames beings. From Rongmé Gakarmo Taktsang, one of the thirteen tiger dens in Tibet, a sacred place where auspiciousness arises, where Rakshasas (flesh eating demons) and evil ones were subdued and blessed, he retrieved the heart essence of the Dharma Protectors' Mind Accomplishment, one of the five categories of heart essence teachings, from the right side of the upper secret cave entrance of Guru Rinpoche's Taktsang. Connecting through empowerments and practices, offer the mandala. This also symbolizes offering weapons. With palms joined, filled with flowers, repeat the prayer: Guru, Protector, inseparable one, With compassion, think of me, Please bless me, Grant the empowerment of body, speech, and mind. Repeat three times. In the presence of the Guru, the Lord of Wisdom, and the mandala of the Dharma Protectors' Mind Accomplishment, and the assembly of the Three Roots (Guru, Yidam, Dakini) and all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas gathered like clouds, for myself and all sentient beings as vast as space, until attaining the state of enlightenment, repeat the refuge prayer: Guru, glorious Heruka, Three Jewels, heroes, and Dakinis, And the assembly of Mahakala, I take refuge in you at all times. Repeat three times. In order to place all sentient beings in the state of liberation and eternal bliss, the perfect state of Buddhahood, for this purpose, temporarily subduing all evil ones and guiding them, etc., to accomplish the state of Buddhahood through the great conduct of a Bodhisattva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
