The Great Compassionate One, Dispelling Darkness Lamp, a practice manual called 'Fulfilling Wishes'. Ratna Lingpa's Great Compassionate One practice manual. The Great Compassionate One, Dispelling Darkness Lamp, a practice manual called 'Fulfilling Wishes'. Om Swasti. Before the protector of the blissful realm, Limitless Light (Amitābha), In the boundless mandala of wisdom's illusion, Emanating as the supreme deity of Great Compassion, I bow to the guru, inseparable from the supreme one. To attain that unsurpassed state, The swift path to accomplishment, the essence of Orgyen's (Padmasambhava) heart, The profound treasure teachings, easy to enter into, May it spread as a source of fulfillment for the fortunate. Therefore, individuals who are qualified, have received empowerment, and abide by their vows, desiring to quickly attain unsurpassed accomplishment, should engage in this practice. This practice is divided into three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding activities. The first, the preliminary, has two parts: arrangement of materials and preliminary rituals. The first, the arrangement of materials: In a pleasing place, arrange beautifully; set up the mandala or the deity's image; prepare water, two types of offerings, the five desirable objects, and other outer offerings; prepare medicine, torma, blood offerings, and other inner offerings; prepare the materials for the tsok (feast), musical instruments, and other necessary items. Second, the preliminary rituals have seven parts: dispelling obstacles, refuge and bodhicitta, the four immeasurables, accumulation of merit, blessings, offerings, and empowerment. First, dispelling obstacles: Visualize oneself instantly as the form of Hayagriva, and practice the preliminary torma. Burn, scatter, and cleanse the torma with Raṃ, Yaṃ, Khaṃ. From emptiness, from Bhrūṃ, arises a vast and expansive jeweled vessel, filled with torma, complete with excellent color, smell, taste, and potency. Bless with Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ. Oṃ Vajra Ākarṣa Ya Jaḥ invite the guests. Oṃ Sarva Vighnān Idaṃ Baliṃta Kha Kha Khāhi Khāhi offer three times, and then command: Hūṃ Hrīḥ I am the wrathful one, Hayagriva, The horse's neigh terrifies, dispelling all obstacles. The light of my body, transforms into a tent of weapons, Flames blaze, cutting off all directions. Unenlightened, deluded beings, Due to discrimination, ignorance, and habitual tendencies, Perceive the duality of gods, demons, and obstacles, But discrimination itself is the obstacle, Demons and obstacles arise from one's own mind. The nature of mind is originally the Dharmakaya, Where are obstacles and hindrances? Everything --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The boundary of the Dharmakaya (ཆོས་སྐུ,chos sku, 法身) of spontaneous liberation. Let no one transgress this. Recite: 'Hrīḥ Hūṃ, disturbing elemental forces, Māra ya Hūṃ Phaṭ.' Knowing the reality that all that is to be cut off and that which cuts off are without inherent existence, thus the boundary is set. Secondly, taking refuge: Visualize the assembly of the Guru, Vidyādhara (རིག་འཛིན་, rig 'dzin, 持明者), and Mahākaruṇā (ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ, thugs rje chen po, 大悲尊), and awaken them with 'B-dzra sa-mā-dza'. 'I and all limitless sentient beings, until the essence of enlightenment, go for refuge to the supreme refuge, the Three Jewels.' And: 'I and the six classes of parents, go for refuge to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Dharmakāya, Sambhogakāya, Nirmāṇakāya (ཆོས་སྐུ་ལོངས་སྐུ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་གསུམ་, chos sku longs sku sprul sku gsum, 法身报身化身) ... Guru, Yidam (ཡི་དམ་, yi dam, 本尊), and Dakini (མཁའ་འགྲོ་, mkha' 'gro, 空行母) ...' Take refuge with these three. Thirdly, generating Bodhicitta (སེམས་བསྐྱེད་, sems bskyed, 菩提心): 'I will liberate all sentient beings from the ocean of Samsara (འཁོར་བ, 'khor ba, 轮回) and establish them in the state of Mahākaruṇā. For that purpose, I will engage in the ritual of Mahākaruṇā.' Thinking thus: 'Having taken this up, until Samsara is empty, for the sake of saving the suffering of the six classes of parents, having practiced the key points of aspiration and engagement, entering this supreme vehicle, I will accomplish Mahākaruṇā. May the sound of the mantra save sentient beings, and may all beings quickly attain the state of Mahākaruṇā.' Having generated Bodhicitta, remain evenly in the state of ultimate Bodhicitta. Fourthly, meditating on the Four Immeasurables: 'May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness; may they be free from suffering and the causes of suffering; may they never be separated from the supreme happiness that is without suffering; and may they abide in equanimity, free from near and far, attachment and aversion.' Thinking thus: 'May all sentient beings have happiness; may they be free from all suffering; may they never be separated from happiness; and may they realize the equality of all dharmas.' Meditate on the four immeasurables. Fifthly, accumulating merit: Visualize the refuge field as the field of accumulation. Recite: 'Hoḥ, Guru, Yidam, and Dakini, please come here! Reside in the center of the beautiful sun, moon, and lotus seat. With faith and respect, prostrate with body, speech, and mind. Offer outer, inner, and secret offerings, actual and mentally created wealth. Confess the breaches, violations, and errors of the three vows. Rejoice in the merit of all virtuous ones. Turn the wheel of Dharma to tame beings in the three times. I beseech you not to pass into Nirvana (མྱ་ངན་མི་འདའ་, mya ngan mi 'da', 涅槃), save sentient beings. May the merit arising from the two accumulations be dedicated to enlightenment. May self and others attain the supreme fruit.' Having purified the stream of being, gather the refuge field into oneself. Sixthly, bestowing blessings: Awaken the mandala of wisdom to pervade the sky. Recite: 'Oṃ Maṇi...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
