头若没有，就用头饰代替；牙齿若没有，就用客人的牙齿代替；舌头若没有，就用李子树枝代替；眼睛若没有，就用山谷的眼睛代替；鼻子若没有，就用铜制的鼻子代替；耳朵若没有，就用青稞的耳朵代替；头发若没有，就用阳光的毛发代替；呼吸若没有，就用风的元素代替；温暖若没有，就用火的元素代替。 心若没有，就用广阔的虚空代替；肢体若没有，就用手部的感官代替；这个珍贵的替身祭品，它的右肩，用珍贵的黄金制成；左肩，用珍贵的白银制成；右脚，用强大的铁制成；左脚，用智慧的铜制成。导师说道：‘作为替身祭品，你将成为人的替身。’替身祭品说道：‘我作为人的替身，我有什么功德？我如何成为男人的替身？我如何成为女人的替身？我如何成为小孩的替身？我如何成为城镇的替身？’说了这些之后，导师说道：‘替身祭品，你过来听着，你作为人的替身，功德数不胜数，你有十二处生处，你有八种意识，你有十八种界。你的右手用黄金制成，成为男人的替身；你的左手用白银制成，成为女人的替身； 你的右脚用铁制成，成为男孩的替身；你的左脚用铜制成，成为女孩的替身；你的身体和形态，成为城镇房屋的替身；你的脸涂上朱砂，成为瑜伽士及其眷属的替身；说话的声音甜美动听，小孩用头骨赞美；走路的姿势笨拙缓慢，替身祭品准备出发；八部神众面前，替身祭品突然说出人话：‘诸位神灵，我被派来作为人的替身，请用人来交换我。’说了这些之后，八部神众说道：‘导师噶绕多杰（dga' rab rdo rje，喜金刚）恩德浩大，我们用人和替身交换。’八部神众欢喜而去。吽（藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，摧毁之义）！以前是谁的替身？是阿育王（aśoka）的替身，因为他造了无间罪业，所以惹怒了妖母和八部神众，导致饥荒、战争和瘟疫发生。班智达肉兰噶（ro langs bde ba）用血祭替身， 摆设祭品。

If there is no head, use a headdress instead; if there are no teeth, use the teeth of a guest instead; if there is no tongue, use a plum branch instead; if there are no eyes, use the eyes of a valley instead; if there is no nose, use a copper nose instead; if there are no ears, use barley ears instead; if there is no hair, use the hair of sunlight instead; if there is no breath, use the element of wind instead; if there is no warmth, use the element of fire instead. If there is no mind, use the vast sky instead; if there are no limbs, use the senses of the hands instead; this precious substitute offering, its right shoulder, is made of precious gold; the left shoulder is made of precious silver; the right foot is made of strong iron; the left foot is made of wisdom copper. The teacher said, 'As a substitute offering, you will become a substitute for humans.' The substitute offering said, 'As a substitute for humans, what merits do I have? How do I become a substitute for men? How do I become a substitute for women? How do I become a substitute for children? How do I become a substitute for towns?' After saying these things, the teacher said, 'Substitute offering, come here and listen, as a substitute for humans, your merits are countless, you have twelve sources of birth, you have eight consciousnesses, you have eighteen realms. Your right hand is made of gold, becoming a substitute for men; your left hand is made of silver, becoming a substitute for women; your right foot is made of iron, becoming a substitute for boys; your left foot is made of copper, becoming a substitute for girls; your body and form become a substitute for towns and houses; your face is painted with cinnabar, becoming a substitute for yogis and their retinues; the sound of speech is sweet and pleasant, the child praises with a skull; the posture of walking is clumsy and slow, the substitute offering is ready to depart; in front of the eight classes of gods and demons, the substitute offering suddenly speaks human language: 'All you gods, I have been sent as a substitute for humans, please exchange me with humans.' After saying these things, the eight classes of gods and demons said, 'The teacher Garab Dorje (dga' rab rdo rje, Joyful Vajra) has great kindness, we will exchange humans and substitutes.' The eight classes of gods and demons rejoiced and left. Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, meaning: destruction)! Who was the substitute before? It was the substitute of King Ashoka (aśoka), because he committed the five heinous crimes, so he angered the demoness and the eight classes of gods and demons, causing famine, war, and plague. Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ，hūṃ， हूं，seed syllable, representing the wisdom of the Buddha)! Whose ransom is it in between? It is offered to Trisong Detsen (Khri srong lde'u btsan), the Tsampo (btsad po, king). Due to the manifestation of the angry Mamo (mother goddess), various inauspicious and unpleasant things occurred. Padmasambhava (Padma 'byung gnas) used the king's lifespan as the standard, prepared the body ransom and red torma (dmar gtor), and offered it to the hands of Nangsi Mamo. Offer the killed as ransom for the body, offer the plundered as repayment for wealth, offer the unbearable as ransom, offer the unwilling to die as ransom. Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ，hūṃ， हूं，seed syllable, representing the wisdom of the Buddha)! Whose ransom is it today? It is offered to us, including people and wealth. Due to the conflict of the Dakinis (mkha' 'gro), famine, war, and plague occurred. As the Vidyadhara (rig 'dzin) and mantra holder (sngags 'chang), I prepared the body ransom adorned with silk and jewels, and the torma adorned with red splendor, and offered it to the hands of Nangsi Mamo. Offer the killed as ransom for the body, offer the plundered as repayment for wealth, offer the unbearable as ransom, offer the unwilling to die as ransom. Starting from the great five classes of Dakinis (yum chen mkha' 'gro sde lnga), up to the Leprosy Goddess (ma yams) and the steadfast earth goddess (brtan ma), prepared the body ransom adorned with red torma, and offered it to the hands of the Mother of Existence. Offer the killed as ransom for the body, offer the plundered as repayment for wealth, offer the unbearable as ransom, offer the unwilling to die as ransom. For the eight classes of gods and demons (lha srin sde brgyad) of appearance and existence, and the gods and spirits residing in existence, prepared the body ransom adorned with red torma, and offered it to the hands of the gods and spirits of appearance and existence. Offer the killed as ransom for the body, offer the plundered as repayment for wealth, offer the unbearable as ransom, offer the unwilling to die as ransom. May the Dakinis be pleased by the torma! May the gods and spirits be pleased by the ransom! May karmic debts and old debts be repaid! May the desires of the six realms be satisfied! Today, for the family, roads, and streets of the benefactor (yon bdag), please do not cause harm and conflict! Release what is seized, untie what is bound, undo the curse, spit out what is eaten, stop what is started, lift what is pressed down. To you, the owners of karmic debts, now offer a better ransom than a human! Now offer more beautiful feathers than a bird! For the one named so-and-so (che ge 'di zhes bya ba yi), offer this as the ransom for the flesh! Offer this as the ransom for the blood! Offer this as the ransom for the bones! Offer this as the ransom for the five senses (dbang po sgo lnga)! Offer this as the ransom for the eight consciousnesses (rnam shes tshogs brgyad)! Offer this as the ransom for the twelve sources (skye mched bcu gnyis)! Offer this as the ransom for the eighteen elements (khams chen bco brgyad)!
