Three eyes glaring, emitting the syllable 'ཨཾ་' (Tibetan, Devanagari: अं, Romanized Sanskrit: aṃ, Literal meaning: seed syllable), eyebrows and beard blazing red and yellow. Dressed in the attire of a monastic, adorned with six bone ornaments and a garland of skulls. The right hand raises a nine-pronged vajra to the sky, while the left hand holds a phurba made of meteoric iron. The legs are in a shooting stance, and the body emits the fire of the eon and the sparks of wrathful deities. The three places (forehead, throat, heart) are marked with three syllables. Visualize the guru manifesting as the wrathful Mahakala, from whose heart light radiates. The light illuminates the ten directions, awakening all the root gurus, yidams, protectors, and buddhas and bodhisattvas residing in space, who all appear in the form of wisdom deities and dissolve into oneself. Recite: 'OM VAJRA AVESHAYA A AH' (བཛྲ་ཨཱ་བེ་ཤ་ཡ་ཨ་ཨཱ༔, vajra āveśaya ā āḥ), while shaking the hand drum and burning gugul incense. Place the crossed vajra on the head, and recite 'TISHTA VAJRA' (ཏིཥྛ་བཛྲ, tiṣṭha vajra) to stabilize it. The magical power of all the Buddhas of the three times, gathered into one, the empowerment of the wrathful Mahakala, is bestowed upon you.'
