The empowerment of meaning from the Guru Sadhana 'Lamp of Blessings' of Kunsang Tukter (kunsang tukter, the treasure of Samantabhadra's mind), entitled 'A Jewel Lamp'. Northern Treasure Guru Sadhana, Meaning Empowerment. The empowerment of meaning from the Guru Sadhana 'Lamp of Blessings' of Kunsang Tukter (kunsang tukter, the treasure of Samantabhadra's mind), entitled 'A Jewel Lamp'. Namo Guru Trikaya Sampurnaya (namo guru trikāya saṃpūrṇāya, Homage to the Guru, complete in the three kayas). More supreme than the wish-fulfilling gem, Guru Rinpoche, who grants all needs and desires. Having bowed with reverence, I compose this for the sake of opening the great gate of liberation for those connected with the essence of the meaning empowerment. Herein, concerning how to bestow the empowerment of meaning, which is said to be the essence of self-entry and the subsequent guidance of disciples from both the Guru Sadhana 'Lamp of Blessings' and the action manual, there are three parts: the preliminary preparation of materials, the actual practice and empowerment, and the concluding sequence of the aftermath. The first is the preparation: On a good seat, in the center of an eight-petaled lotus mandala, place a vessel filled with bandha (bandha, samaya substances) and well-conditioned chang (beer), nectar, and dharma medicine, covered with a mirror smeared with sindhura (red lead), upon which is written the syllable Hūṃ (hūṃ,种子字,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,摧破义) surrounded by the root mantra. Above that, on a support, place a glorious torma (gtor ma, offering cake) in a precious vessel, blazing with jewels, possessing eight lotus petals, adorned with ornaments and complete with a silk parasol, surrounded by various kinds of food and drink. It is said that four tormas should be arranged in the four directions; if this can be done, it is excellent, but if it is inconvenient, four small tormas or kyugu (kyu gu, small offerings) can be placed around the glorious torma above. In addition, the offering substances, rakta (blood offering), and the tsok torma (gathering offering) needed for the activity, etc., should be arranged as usual. The second part is: First, the practice and offering for the sake of empowerment: Based on the intent of the text, the activities arising from the Guru Sadhana 'Lamp of Blessings'. It seems to be combined with the outer, inner, secret, and complete four kayas sadhana of the Guru, so it is extensive, and the types of empowerment also become fourfold. However, according to the tradition of Je Lama (rje bla ma, Tsongkhapa), it is combined with the action manual 'Wish-Fulfilling Jewel', which is both complete in meaning and convenient, so follow the text of the action manual. Visualize the torma mandala as the all-encompassing Guru Rinpoche, the essence of the source from which all needs and desires arise. During the recitation: From that (torma) radiate light, Arousing the mind-streams of the Three Roots and the vast array of Victorious Ones. Inviting their blessings to merge into oneself. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having gathered all the siddhis (accomplishments) and dissolved them into oneself, contemplate becoming the embodiment of the complete essence of all blessings and siddhis. Recite: Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Guru Deva Ḍākinī Mahā Balinta Kāya Vāka Citta Siddhi Siddhi Hūṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ༔ གུ་རུ་དྷེ་བ་ཌཱ་ཀི་ནཱི་མ་ཧཱ་བ་ལིན་ཏ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཝཱ་ཀ་ཙིཏྟ་སིདྡྷི་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ༔,梵文天城体:ओँ आः हूँ गुरु देव डाकिनी महा बलिन्त काय वाक चित्त सिद्धि सिद्धि हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ guru deva ḍākinī mahā balinta kāya vāk citta siddhi siddhi hūṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡啊吽,上师本尊空行母,大供身语意,成就成就吽), as much as possible. Then, after completing the offering to the Dharma protectors, the torma offering, and the tsok offering, enter self-generation or receive the empowerment of samadhi. Regarding the actual empowerment: Bathe the disciples. Dismiss and expel obstacles, and establish boundaries. Clarify the generation of bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment). Here, among all the roots of the swift path to maturation and liberation in the Secret Mantra Vajrayana, the source of all blessings and siddhis, the supreme Vajradhara (holder of the vajra) who pervades the ocean of mandalas, among the many methods of approaching and accomplishing the glorious and holy Lama, that which is unparalleled is the profound mind practice of the great master of Oddiyana, Guru Padmasambhava. As it is said in the vajra words of the Lord himself: 'The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times, with compassion, consider the benefit of beings. For the sake of beings, they manifest in various forms. There are countless methods of Guru practice. All the Buddhas of the three times have requested empowerment and permission. In the degenerate times of the future, to benefit beings, I myself, with the power of aspiration, will teach the Guru practice, relying on the one who has been granted permission.' Thus, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions have requested that he benefit beings, empowered and permitted him, and especially urged and praised him to subdue the difficult-to-tame in the degenerate age. Not only does he possess the great power of aspiration and prayer that surpasses other Buddhas, but all the Buddhas of the three times are also none other than the manifestation of the Guru himself. As it is said: 'I am the very embodiment of all the Buddhas. The Buddhas of the past are my fathers. The Buddhas of the future are my sons. The Buddhas of the present are my brothers. Since I am the Buddhas of the three times, pray to me without doubt.' With these true and infallible words, he promises that in this land of Tibet, the kindness of Guru Rinpoche is greater than that of all the Buddhas. Among the vast and varied practices of Guru Rinpoche, the most extraordinary is the mind treasure of Nubchen Sangye Yeshe, given as a heart practice to Nub Namkhai Nyingpo, called 'The Lamp of Guru Practice Blessings,' which was revealed by the mind emanation, Jangchub Lingpa Pal Gyaltsen. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
