Great Treasure TD120: 'The Profound Path of Practice Inseparable from the Great Teacher Padmasambhava,' composed by Tsarchen Choskyi Gyalpo. Oḍḍiyāna Prayer, Tsar Tradition. Homage to Guru Padmākara! Here, desiring to practice the profound path inseparable from the Great Teacher Padmasambhava and the root guru, one sits in a comfortable posture of meditation. Homage: The Guru is the embodiment of all Sugatas, the essence of the Three Jewels. I and all sentient beings of the six realms take refuge until enlightenment. Generating the mind: For the sake of all beings, I will accomplish the Guru Buddha, and through activities that tame each according to their needs, I vow to liberate beings. Recite this three times to perform the refuge and generate the mind. Visualize the place where you are as a great pure land. In front, visualize a great wish-fulfilling ocean, blue, clear, vast, and without impurity. In the center of this ocean, visualize various lotus stems adorned with diverse leaves, flowers, fruits, and so on. In the center of the various lotuses, visualize a white, cool, and full moon disc. Upon this, visualize the Great Teacher Padmasambhava, inseparable from your kind root guru, as an ācārya of sixteen years of age. His body is white with a reddish hue, radiant. He has one face and two arms. His eyes, like the sun and moon, are peaceful, wrathful, smiling, and pleasing. From his mouth, the sound of profound secret mantras emanates. His right hand holds a five-pronged golden vajra at his heart in the gesture of granting refuge. His left hand rests in the gesture of equipoise, holding a kapāla (skull cup) filled with immortal nectar. A khaṭvāṃga rests on his left elbow. His hair is black and oily, hanging in long locks. He wears a shawa hat on his head, topped with a vulture feather. It is adorned with a silver mirror, golden sun and moon, and a vajra crest. He is adorned with robes of five-colored silk. He wears a dark blue vajra secret garment and a silk skirt. Over this, he wears a red chögö (chos gos, monastic robe) with a golden patra design. He subdues the three realms. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Visualize exquisite, profound, and splendid offerings displayed before you. The Lama is seated in the vajra posture. Surrounding him are the lineage masters of the Vidyadhara tradition, the assembly of deities from the Eight Great Sadhana Teachings, heroes, dakinis, and oath-bound protectors, gathered like dense clouds. Flowers rain down, music resounds, and all of existence shines with brilliance, immersed in rainbows and light. Visualize the white Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at the Lama's crown, the red Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आ,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at his throat, and the blue Hung (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at his heart. From the Hung, rays of light emanate, illuminating the palace of the Dakinis in the western land of Oddiyana, the summit of Glorious Copper-Colored Mountain, the supreme place of attainment for Vidyadharas, and the boundless realms of the ten directions. Guru Rinpoche and his retinue descend like a blizzard of snowflakes, chanting Dza Hung Bam Hoh (藏文:ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བྃ་ཧོཿ), and dissolve into the deity in front. They gaze upon me with loving eyes, think of me with compassionate hearts, and say with smiling faces: 'Son and daughter of noble family, I will liberate you from the great ocean of samsaric suffering. I will lead you to the state of liberation and omniscience. I will be your refuge in this life, the next, and the bardo. I will grant you both supreme and common siddhis.' Imagine this clear voice, and offer your body and possessions without reservation. From the depths of your heart, generate intense devotion, dedicating your entire being, and pray not just with words, but with heartfelt supplication: Emaho! In the western realm of Sukhavati, Amitabha Buddha embodies the great bliss of Dharmakaya. On the summit of Mount Potala in the south, Avalokiteshvara, the compassionate Lord. In the palace of Glorious Copper-Colored Mountain in Oddiyana, Padmasambhava, the master of accomplishment, the incarnate body. Now, in the snowy land of Tibet, The kind Dharma Lord, whose kindness is unparalleled. Inseparable from the three kayas, Precious Lama, I supplicate you, bless my mindstream. All sentient beings, vast as the sky, And the suffering beings of Tibet in this degenerate age. Especially myself and those connected to me, Look upon us with your great compassion and wisdom. Victorious One, your vajra words are infallible, Before every faithful person is Padmasambhava. Always abiding and bestowing blessings, Especially on the tenth day of the waxing moon. You will manifestly appear and take us under your care. As you have promised with your unchanging truth, I pray with devotion from the depths of my heart, May you now immediately bless and take us into your care. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
