Great Treasure of Mind, TD102, titled 'Auspicious Path to Immortality: A Combined Sadhana of the Three Roots for Longevity'. A Terma of Chokgyur Lingpa, Sadhana of the Three Roots. Vast is the dominion of immortality and permanence, rich in meaning. I bow with reverence at the lotus feet of Padmasambhava. To practice the method of immortal siddhi, I present here a concise guide for easy practice. Here, from the immaculate rainbow cave of the Joyful Grove of Dakinis in Rma kulung, from the lower Immortal Vajra Treasury, the method for accomplishing the revered Amitayus, appearing as the embodiment of the Three Roots, is as follows: Enter retreat during the auspicious waxing moon, on an auspicious day. The location should be auspicious, suitable for accomplishing immortality, secluded, with complete conducive conditions, and easy to gather resources. Spread a white mat marked with a vajra, a swastika (g.yung drung), and jewels. On a platform facing oneself, arrange the colored powder mandala or painted thangka according to the ritual. Alternatively, on a red platform covered with a red cloth, place grains of white rice in the center of the mandala, adorned with fragrant scents and reciting the root mantra in the places of the deities. In any case, in the center of the mandala, on a stand, place a precious vase adorned with ornaments, a neck cord, and vase markings, filled with a continuous flow of water, infused with the thirty-five longevity substances. If you wish to elaborate, place a single skull cup on top of it, filled with various foods, grains, medicines, and especially the liberation nectar longevity pills, marked with the syllable (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: shyness) and རྒྱ་མའི་ཕབ་, which are special longevity pills. On top of that, place two longevity wheels of speech, well-prepared according to the hidden instructions in the text. Seal a clear mirror with cinnabar-written mantras. Place an embossed image or tsakali on top of it, supported by a bamboo frame, covered with a red silk canopy. If this is not possible, a single vase in the center will suffice. In any case, always place a longevity torma (Tse-gtor) and vase-shaped offering in front. The detailed ritual, including the preparation and decoration of the twenty-five supreme substances, is described in the text itself. On the right, place a collection of longevity pills made from a mixture of the three sweets and the essence of grains. . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In front, place a kapala (skull cup, auspicious symbol) filled with excellent chang (liquor), infused with sacred medicine made from eight herbs and a thousand ingredients. Behind it, erect a tshe-da (longevity arrow) as described in the texts, adorned with five precious silks representing body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities. To the east of the mandala, directly in front, place a round tshe-dren (life-attracting offering) or tshe-gal (life-essence), made from a mixture of grain flour, sugar, and alcohol, resembling a Zar Gang mountain, white on the right and red on the left, topped with a vajra (diamond scepter) or a yellow sun and moon ornament, and with four lotus petals at its base. To the right and left of the tshe-gal, place medicine essence and rakta (blood offering). Starting from the tshe-gal, arrange two sets of water offerings clockwise in each direction and corner of the mandala, along with the five preliminary offerings, and square arrangements of grains as boundary markers in the corners. In the back, if possible, arrange tormas (ritual cakes) for mantra protectors, deities, demons, and tsen spirits. If simplifying, place a small chad-do (severance torma) and offerings for the local deities, along with the implements for the tsok (gathering feast). In front of oneself, arrange incense, a damaru (hand drum), a vajra and bell, inner offering, and so on. It is easy to recite by practicing the four sessions in this way. First, in the early morning session, precede with refuge and bodhicitta (enlightenment mind), and offer a torma to expel obstacles. Externally, construct a white barrier. Visualize the boundary and protection wheel. Bless the offerings. Invoke the blessings. The main practice is the union yoga of visualizing oneself and the deities in the mandala as inseparable, or if that is not possible, visualize the practice items as different deities, and accomplish the practice through visualization, mantra recitation, and chanting. Remember the three samadhis (meditative absorptions), the generation stage, and invite. Seat. Offer prostrations and offerings. Praises, etc., and according to the activity ritual, in the third section—the approach—because the content is extensive, it should be done like the 'Heart Essence Illumination'. During the recitation, according to the ritual text, starting from 'I am the Lord Buddha in my heart,' until 'Achieve the immortal rainbow body vajra life,' all the visualization and focus during the recitation are shown here. The visualization sequence is very clear, and the content is complete and concise. Relying on the generation stage of the ritual text is the key instruction for prolonging life. That is, visualizing oneself as the self-generated deity of the completion stage is the total collection of the three roots of immortality. The visualized form is established in appearance, but not established in grasping. Like a colorful painting in a mirror, clear and unmixed. In the heart, on a sun and moon cushion, within the union of skillful means and wisdom, dwells the mind of the wisdom being. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
