Third are the six subsequent dharmas: eating is the yoga of food, wearing is the yoga of clothing, dwelling is the yoga of residence, sleeping is the yoga of clear light, dying and becoming enlightened is the yoga of transference, and becoming enlightened in the bardo is the yoga of the bardo. First, no matter what kind of food and drink, large or small, is enjoyed, recite "ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ། (Tibetan, 唵阿吽, oṃ āḥ hūṃ, body, speech, and mind)", transforming it into an inexhaustible ocean of wisdom nectar. Then, recite the three syllables many times, offering the essence to the lama, yidam, dakini, and dharma protectors. Enjoy it yourself with the pride of a deity. The second is similar to this, except that the clothing is blessed into immeasurable celestial garments. The third is also similar to this, except that the residence or dwelling place is blessed into an immeasurable palace, and it is multiplied. Fourth, in the heart, visualize the yidam, the noble Avalokiteśvara, about four finger-widths in size. On the crown of the head, meditate on the lama Amitabha. Cultivate intense devotion to both, meditating on them alternately. When sleeping, visualize the lama Amitabha on the crown of the head entering through the Brahma aperture, dissolving into the yidam in the heart, or visualize him residing there in the form of the lord of the family, whichever you prefer. Focus your mind on the lama yidam in the heart, and falling asleep in this way will allow you to grasp the clear light. Fifth, there are two parts: practice and application. First, visualize the lama on the crown of the head, the yidam in the heart, and in the navel, a blue-red bindu inside a white dharma source. Visualize the Brahma aperture as wide open like an open skylight. Exhale stale air. Holding the breath slightly, from the center of the blue-red bindu in the navel, a white-yellow bindu the size of a mustard seed emerges, and while reciting a long "ཧཱིཀ་ (Tibetan, हिः, hīḥ, none)", exhale it from the mouth, making the white-yellow bindu round. Circle the yidam in the heart three times, then shoot it out from the Brahma aperture and dissolve it into the heart of the lama. Repeat this visualization seven times or more. Then, the descent: gather all that has been transferred upwards into one, the nature of which is like a mustard seed, and dissolve it into the bindu in the navel through the original path. Practice this many times, and at the end of the session, the lama also dissolves into light, and visualize the Brahma aperture closing, then dedicate the merit. Second is the application: when the time comes.

At that time, one should act, abandoning these three: descending, merging with the lama, and closing the door. The rest is as before. The sixth is to strongly cultivate the thought that all these appearances are Bardo. This is a great boundary between rising and falling, so make a firm resolution not to give even a moment to the control of afflictions. Whatever appears as form, visualize as the body of Avalokiteśvara. Whatever sounds, visualize as the mantra of the six syllables (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པའི་སྔགས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: षडक्षरीमन्त्र, Sanskrit Romanization: ṣaḍakṣarīmantra, Literal Chinese meaning: Six-syllable mantra). Enemies, friends, objects of attachment and aversion, etc., self and others, vessel and contents, visualize as appearance and emptiness, like illusion. In between sessions, also hold with the iron hook of mindfulness, and visualize all beings seen as deities. Whatever arises, such as objects of attachment and aversion, regard everything as unreal and illusory. This is important. Thus, this is a compilation of the essential points of the Chimbu lineage of the Mar transmission, spoken by Gyal Khampa Tāranātha. Revised. May auspiciousness increase.
