English version Sins. If I commit them myself, or instruct others to commit them, or rejoice in seeing others commit them. Regarding stupas or the Sangha, if I take property belonging to the Sangha from the four directions, whether I take it myself, or instruct others to take it, or rejoice in seeing others take it. Or if I commit the five rebellious acts (killing one's father, killing one's mother, killing an Arhat, disrupting the Sangha's harmony, shedding the blood of a Buddha) which lead to uninterrupted suffering, whether I do it myself, or instruct others to do it, or rejoice in seeing others do it. The ten non-virtuous actions (three of body: killing, stealing, sexual misconduct; four of speech: lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter; three of mind: greed, hatred, wrong views), I commit myself, instruct others to commit, or rejoice in seeing others commit. All the various sins I have committed, whether concealed or not concealed, I should fall into hell, hungry ghosts, animals, and all other evil realms, as well as border regions and 'Militche' (uncivilized remote areas). All the karmic obstacles created in such places, I now repent. Now, may all the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, know me and remember me. I again, before all the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, say this: If in this life, or in other lives, I have ever practiced giving, or upheld pure precepts, even to the extent of giving a handful of food to an animal, or all the roots of goodness arising from cultivating pure conduct, all the roots of goodness for accomplishing sentient beings, all the roots of goodness for cultivating Bodhi (enlightenment), all the roots of goodness for seeking unsurpassed wisdom, all combined, calculated, and measured, I completely dedicate them to Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (unexcelled perfect enlightenment). Just as the Buddhas of the past, future, and present have made dedications, so too do I dedicate. All sins I repent, all blessings I rejoice in, and the merit of requesting the Buddhas to remain in the world, may I achieve unsurpassed wisdom. The Buddhas of the past, future, and present, are the most supreme among sentient beings, possessing immeasurable oceans of merit, I take refuge, join my palms, and bow in reverence. All together recite: Namo Maha Prajna Paramita (Great wisdom to the other shore). It is the great divine mantra. It is the great bright mantra. It is the unsurpassed mantra. It is the unequalled mantra. Abiding in the world, like the empty space, like the lotus flower, not clinging to water, with a pure mind, transcending to the other shore, I bow in reverence to the unsurpassed honored one. May this merit and virtue, universally benefit all, I and all sentient beings, together accomplish the Buddha path. Having bowed to the Buddha, respectfully: Taking refuge in the Buddha, may all sentient beings, embody and understand the Great Path, and generate the unsurpassed intention. Taking refuge in the Dharma, may all sentient beings, deeply enter the Sutra Treasury, and may their wisdom be like the sea. English version Everything Unobstructed May all listen to the Impermanence Gatha at Sunset: Today has passed; the night is difficult to secure. But observe this body; thoughts constantly age. A hundred years is a common lifespan; how can it be guaranteed? Therefore, all of you should diligently practice the Way. All actions are impermanent; they are the law of arising and ceasing. When arising and ceasing cease, Nirvana (Nirvana, a Buddhist term referring to the state of liberation from the cycle of birth and death) is bliss. The Tathagata (Tathagata, meaning 'the one who has thus gone' or 'the one who has thus come', an epithet of the Buddha) attains Nirvana, forever severing birth and death. If one can listen with utmost sincerity, one can always obtain immeasurable joy. One Volume of the Sutra of the Names of Buddhas of the Ten Directions All with utmost reverence, pay homage to the eternally abiding Three Jewels (referring to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha). All recite together: The Tathagata's wonderful form, there is nothing in the world that can compare. Incomparable, inconceivable, therefore now we reverently bow. The Tathagata's form is inexhaustible, and so is wisdom. All dharmas are eternally abiding, therefore I take refuge. Pay homage to the eternally abiding Three Jewels. Praise the Buddha's Mantra and Vows: Above heaven and below heaven, there is none like the Buddha; in the ten directions, there is also nothing comparable. I see all in the world; there is nothing like the Buddha. Pay homage to Sakyamuni Buddha (Sakyamuni Buddha), pay homage to the future Maitreya Buddha (Maitreya Buddha), pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Eastern Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Southeast No Sorrow Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Southern Sandalwood Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Southwest Treasure Giving Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Western Immeasurable Light Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Northwest Flower Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Northern Appearance Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Northeast Three Vehicle Practice Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Upper Vast Assembly Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the Lower Bright Virtue Tathagata, pay homage to the Thousand Buddhas and Fifteen Hundred Buddhas of the Auspicious Aeon, pay homage to the Five Hundred Flower Heads Hundred Billion Vajra Treasury Buddhas, pay homage to the Thirty-Five Buddhas and Fifty-Three Buddhas, pay homage to all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future, pay homage to the relics, images, stupas, temples, and pagodas, pay homage to the profound Dharma Treasury of the Twelve Divisions of the Venerable Sutras, pay homage to all the Great Bodhisattvas and all the Sages, pay homage to the Twenty-Eight Heavens, Shakra, Brahma Kings, etc. The eternally abiding Three Jewels for all the dragons, gods, wind, and rain. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
