English version: Grind into extremely fine powder. Mix with borneol camphor (a type of fragrance) and musk. Recite the heart mantra one thousand and eight times. Follow with the subsidiary mantra one thousand and eight times. Recite the fundamental great mantra one thousand and eight times. Take the medicine with your hand and touch the feet of Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion). Then apply it to the eyes, and all eye diseases, even congenital blindness, pterygium (a growth on the eye), and fleshy growths will be eliminated and healed. Apply it a second time, and all high fevers, headaches, migraines, and mouth diseases will be eliminated and healed. Apply it a third time, and all fierce and evil ghosts, as well as epilepsy, will be eliminated and healed. Apply it a fourth time, and all evil Vinayakas (the elephant-headed god) will be destroyed. Apply it a fifth time, and you will be victorious in all conflicts with enemies. Apply it a sixth time, and all sins, all poisons, and the suffering of Avici hell that you should have fallen into will be eliminated. All bad dreams, evil thoughts, inauspicious signs, and hundreds of thousands of calamities will be eliminated, and will never arise again, all thanks to this eye medicine. Apply it on the seventh day, and as soon as you see all men and women, noble and humble, monastic and lay, inner and outer relatives, they will all submit. Apply it on the fourteenth day, and you will attain great freedom. Apply it on the twenty-first day, and you will gain the submission of a multitude like scattered millet (referring to a large number of people). Apply it on the twenty-eighth day, and all Yakshas (a type of spirit), Yakshinis (female Yakshas), and their retinues will submit. Apply it on the thirty-fifth day, and Rakshasis (female Rakshasas) and their retinues will submit. Apply it on the forty-second day, and those who have mastered illusionary arts, who can manifest various forms, will be driven and employed, and even until Bodhi (Enlightenment) they will follow and submit. Apply it on the forty-ninth day, and Mahakala (the Great Black One) and all female ghosts and their retinues will submit. Apply it on the fifty-sixth day, and you will see those who are invisible. Apply it on the sixty-third day, and you will be able to see all treasures. Apply it on the seventy-seventh day, and you will be able to enter all cave dwellings. Apply it on the eighty-fourth day, and you will be able to enter all the gardens of immortal medicine, and all the gods of medicine, herbs, and trees will immediately appear. English version: All the hells can be clearly seen, and those who suffer in them can be liberated. Apply the ointment for the eighteenth seven-day period, and the body will have majestic virtue like sunlight. All caves and dwellings in the darkness can be seen clearly. Apply the ointment for the nineteenth seven-day period, and the holy Vajrapani (执金刚, a Dharma protector in Buddhism) will appear as proof. Apply the ointment for the twentieth seven-day period, and Avalokiteśvara (观世音菩萨, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion) will personally appear before you as proof and abide there, manifesting his own body and fulfilling all wishes, satisfying all that the heart desires. Apply the ointment for the twenty-first seven-day period, and one will be able to fly into the sky without any obstacles, and see all the Buddha lands, clearly seeing the Buddha's body. All the places where the Bodhisattvas dwell can be seen. Fulfill one year, secretly applying the ointment, and the five eyes will be purified. Treat all beings as previously secretly described, and all will be obtained without doubt. With such accomplishment, simply reading and reciting will ensure that one obtains all the merits of the Tathagata turning the Dharma wheel. Thus, the Mani (摩尼, jewel) Avalokiteśvara (观世音菩萨, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion) lotus pure eye medicine is accomplished. Furthermore, it speaks of the most effective method for achieving subjugation and the method of igniting fire, which can increase lifespan, extinguish all sins, and be free from all entanglements of afflictions. All enemies will be subjugated without exception, all obstacles will naturally disappear, and all beings will naturally submit. Mix white sandalwood, rice flowers (flowers obtained by burning rice), white mustard seeds, curd, honey, and ghee together. Chant the mantra one thousand and eight times and then burn it. Light the fire with fragrant wood. As soon as this is done, all sins and obstacles, even those of the Avici Hell, will naturally be extinguished, and one will live to be a thousand years old. Burning for one seven-day period will grant a lifespan of two thousand years, and the body will become pure, forever free from the entanglements of afflictions. Performing the ritual for two seven-day periods will ensure that all men and women will submit and obey. Performing the ritual for three seven-day periods will cause all the relatives in the Thirty-three Heavens, as well as the Sun God, to come and submit, fulfilling all wishes. The Four Heavenly Kings and others will descend to constantly protect and nourish the mantra holder. The holy Vajrapani (执金刚, a Dharma protector in Buddhism) will grant the fulfillment of wishes. English version: Scatter ashes. Throw the ashes into the fire and recite it one hundred and eight times. All evil winds, snow, and rain will not arise. If you recite it regularly, there will be no obstacles in all places, and you will gain strength, courage, and diligence. After giving up this body, you will be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and in every life, you will gain knowledge of past lives. Thus, World Honored One, whether it be a Bhikshu (Buddhist monk), Bhikshuni (Buddhist nun), Upasaka (male lay devotee), Upasika (female lay devotee), or other mantra practitioners, if they can read and accomplish this Great Cintamani (wish-fulfilling jewel) Wheel-Turning Avalokiteśvara (Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva of compassion in Buddhism) Heart Seal, they should uphold, read, and listen to it. They will obtain such a great accumulation of merit and great roots of goodness. All men and women will be compliant. Mantra practitioners should always guard their mouths, and the things they do will never regress. They will receive great offerings, and all treasures will be obtained. All beings' wishes will be fulfilled. At that time, the World Honored One told Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, 'For the benefit of all beings, circulate this Dharma in Jambudvipa (the world we live in).
