The way in which the third party does not cause harm is as follows: That treatise does not explain that meaning, because if it did, it would entail that the wisdom of newly realizing what was not previously realized would be explained as the definition of pramana (cognition); and the decisive consciousness (bcad shes) led by direct perception (mngon sum) is also said to be the object of measurement (gzhal bya) that was not previously realized but is newly realized. Because it is also said not to be pramana, the author would be led to admit that the three wheels ('khor gsum) are contradictory. This is the general category of pramana. Riding on a fast and large ship, in order to cross the ocean of the Seven Treatises (sde bdun), to those like-minded friends, the words of ancient sages, which do not go beyond their scope, the one who speaks well in terms of words and reasoning, given by the helmsman who is skilled in navigation. May this virtue cause you, from this day forward, never to enter the paths entered by children, in that vast expanse of well-spoken treasures, seated on the throne respected by all, converse with the elders, and sit at the head of all the wise ones. This work, called 'The Vajra Illusion Wheel Key that Opens the Door to the Great Treasury of the Seven Treatises,' was written by the logician from the central region, the glorious Shakya Chokden, with immaculate intelligence, in the heart of Tsang in Upper Tibet. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
