In addition, place an image of the six-syllable mantra (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ།) on a container made of copper or other materials, and consecrate it. Arrange offerings in front and pray: 'O Lord Avalokiteśvara (Tibetan: ཇོ་བོ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ།), for the benefit of all sentient beings, please purify all my sins.' If sins are heavy, recite the name three times. Take flowers with the right hand and sprinkle them on the heart of Avalokiteśvara, count with the rosary in the left hand. Offer one-tenth of the number of recitations, dedicate the merit, and then return the deity. First pour white mustard seeds at the bottom, then put in flowers, and pile round pine branches on top. The offering items are one million well-split and oiled pine branches, placed on the right side. First, arrange offerings in the four directions, and then generate the six-syllable mantra (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ།) from Hrīḥ (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: great compassion) in the center. Visualize Buddhas and Bodhisattvas filling the sky in front. Focusing on them, offer the offerings in front and perform the seven-branch practice. Starting from 'The ten directions,' pray: 'Please listen, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, may all the sins committed by me (recite your name) be quickly eliminated; may all merits be perfected.' Repeat three times. Offer the offerings on the left to the six-syllable mantra (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ།), and pray as before. Then light the pine branches, offering them one by one to Avalokiteśvara, visualizing merging into the nature of bliss and emptiness (Tibetan: བདེ་སྟོང་།), and all my sins are purified. Sanskrit Romanization: śāntiṃ kuru, Literal meaning: make peace)' under each offering. After the offerings are exhausted, offer the offerings behind, and pray three times. If conditions permit, enjoy the food. Offer the offerings on the right again, reciting: 'Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ, may all my sins be pacified (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་བདག་གི་སྡིག་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཤནྟིཾ་ཀུ་རུ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ maṇi padme śāntiṃ kuru ye svāhā, Literal meaning: Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ, may all my sins be pacified).' Recite one million times. Then hold incense in your hand and pray to Avalokiteśvara: 'O Lord Avalokiteśvara, for the benefit of all sentient beings, please bless me to quickly attain accomplishment.' Repeat three times, dedicate the merit, scatter the ashes in the air, and discard the leftovers. If doing a retreat, accumulate the merits of the Sangha, offer to the Three Jewels, place the consecrated image of Avalokiteśvara on a pile of white flowers, offer three handfuls of flowers, and pray: 'Please bless me to quickly attain supreme accomplishment for the benefit of all sentient beings; please bless to pacify all obstacles.' Repeat three times. The number of recitations is: superior, thirty-two million; intermediate, seven million; inferior, three million. There are also other ancient texts transmitted from Avalokiteśvara that say the retreat time is three months, and the number of recitations is eighteen million. Some documents also say to recite six million times. Retreat recitation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before starting, one should not engage in activities (karma). As stated in the 'Varuna Torma Ritual'. Cleanliness is of utmost importance. In terms of practice, the elaborate path includes the main deity and its retinue of three, while the concise path has only the main deity. In terms of cultivation, the generation stage is most important, as stated in the 'Lineage Transmission Sutra'. The completion stage involves dissolving the deity into oneself, etc., and meditating on emptiness. Compassion is of utmost importance. Sleeping, waking up, bathing, and things like food and clothing should all be done properly. If anger arises, visualize the syllable 'Ma' (藏文:མ,梵文天城体:म,梵文罗马拟音:ma,literal meaning: without) in the center of the heart, radiating light that fills the entire body, thereby pacifying afflictions. Visualize the light radiating outward, pacifying the afflictions of all sentient beings, and recite one million 'mani' (six-syllable mantra). If desire arises, visualize a red light at the navel, etc. If ignorance arises, visualize a black syllable 'Ti' (藏文:ཏི,梵文天城体:ति,梵文罗马拟音:ti,literal meaning: firm) at the crown of the head, etc. The above can be explained by referring to the previous explanations. If one constantly tames the three poisons, one will not be overcome by afflictions and can quickly complete the accumulations. Before sleeping, if there is a painting of the Eleven-Faced Avalokiteśvara, that is best. Even if there isn't, you can visualize it. Recite: 'Supreme Compassionate One, I offer my body to you. Please accept all offerings separately at all times.' Recite three times. Visualize your body dissolving into the heart of the Supreme One, and abide in equanimity. Thinking that you will not stray from great compassion, recite: 'Supreme Compassionate One, please grant me the accomplishment of not straying from the great vow.' Recite three times. Dedicate the merit. If performing a tsok offering, one cannot use flesh and blood and wine, one needs to prepare the three whites (milk, yogurt, butter), etc. For details, please consult old documents.' This text was written by Jyak Ralwa Sangye Phuntsok at Evam Choden. May there be auspiciousness! May there be auspiciousness! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
