Om, proclaim the sound. The first right hand of the four-armed one holds a curved knife, and the lower one holds a skull cup filled with nectar. The first left hand holds a trident, and the lower one holds a vase of life. Protect beings from the fear of death. On a lotus and solar-lunar seat, he sits majestically in a heroic posture. Adorned with all kinds of ornaments, wearing various silk garments. Lord of Life Empowerment, I praise you. Please accept this sacred substance torma, and grant the accomplishment of life. Thus praise. From one's own heart, the mantra garland radiates with light. Inspire the mindstream of the vase deity. Gather all the qualities of samsara and nirvana, vessel and essence, into the form of nectar, and dissolve them into the essence within the vase. Visualize that from the body of the vase deity, the bodhicitta immortal nectar also descends, and then grasp the blessing cord. Oṃ mahākāla eka jāṭi āyurjñāna siddhi hrūṃ. Black Flame Mother, chief of the dakinis, black, fierce, and possessing miraculous powers, cut off the army of the Lord of Death and demons, hook back life from the hands of demons and Yama! Protector of the Tsang lineage, Lion Face, black in color with iron hair, mouth open, fangs bared, three eyes wide open, cut off the army of the Lord of Death and demons, hook back the life dwelling in the mountain of the king of ogres! All-pervading fierce Raven Face, powerful, swift, and master of activities, cut off the army of the Lord of Death and demons, hook back life from the hands of the eight classes of spirits! Thus summon life. Pray that the Lord of Life Empowerment and his retinue bestow the accomplishment of immortal life. Thus also pray for the desired purpose. If one is merely practicing, then at this time perform the subsequent rituals. Third, the empowerment ritual: Have the disciples bathe, dispel obstacles, and explain the Dharma as appropriate.
