Bind pieces of wood into a cross, and then tie a bundle of grass. The ingredients for human speech are salt, garlic, and three types of garlic. Coriander, black buckwheat beans, black mustard, rock salt, alkali, calamus, self-twisted thread, and the wood from bird nests are all put together. Whatever silk cloth is obtained from today or other days, wrap it in silk cloth that you have not touched with your own hands, and tie it to the center of the cross. Take it to the top of a high red rock, or to a crossroads or a four-way intersection, and offer golden liquor. Vigorously perform the summoning and dispatching of the ingredients. Rotate it around your body, under your feet, and when the wind is blowing in a direction other than the enemy's or your own, place it at the base of the sling. Human speech, evil words, together with obstacles, may the wrathful mantra be carried away uncontrollably by the wind, swirling in the enemy's land, visualize it turning into thick darkness, turn it towards the other side, recite and throw the wrathful mantras and activity mantras. Perform curses and clap your hands. Shout "Lha Gyal!" and spread auspiciousness. These are also from the scriptures. Thus, for future beings, especially those of great lineage, merely because of human speech and gossip, merit and lifespan are suddenly diminished, and all obstacles arise like the wind. Therefore, the basis of all obstacles, the method of protecting and averting evil speech and gossip, has never been taught elsewhere. This is the meaning of the Manjushri Interdependent Origination Sutra, now taught by the lords, father and son, out of compassion for beings in the degenerate age. If used excessively, obstacles will arise for oneself, so be careful. Samaya. As it is said, because it is profound and important, for the benefit of the teachings and beings, and for the benefit of those who possess Dharma, do not act carelessly or rashly. May the power of the enemy of the times be like a torrential rain, pacifying obstacles and dust storms. In the joyous garden of increasing happiness, may you always play freely. Thus, this complete and easy-to-carry peg of the activity of protecting and averting human speech and evil words, is rare in other treasures, therefore it is extracted from the scriptures and adorned with clarity.
