A supplication and offering praising the field deities, a cloud mass of wish-fulfillment, causing crops to grow. A supplication and offering praising the field deities, a cloud mass of wish-fulfillment, causing crops to grow. ༄༅། །This is the text entitled "A Supplication and Offering Praising the Field Deities, a Cloud Mass of Wish-Fulfillment, Causing Crops to Grow." The method for this field purification is as follows: First, draw a mandala. In the center, make a white lotus heart, and on top of a three-tiered Mount Meru, place a vase. On top of that, place a white torma. Around the outer layer, place four white tormas on four different-colored lotus petals. Around the outer layer of that, make eight white lotus petals, which are the food offerings for the eight classes of beings. Around the outer layer of that, make twelve lotus petals, placing the twelve animals of the zodiac. Arrange the five offerings. Scatter one hundred and eight tormas. Recite the names of the five types of livestock and the eight types of grains that increase production. Adorn with various trees and plants, and say the following: “Alas! In the first aeon of the past, Offering to the Buddhas of the three times, nourishing sentient beings of the three realms, Causing the arrogant to wither, repaying debts and karmic debts, Taking back from the powerful, nourishing the mouths of enemies, Accomplishing rare and precious treasures, for the sake of accumulating wish-fulfilling foods, Grains are truly indispensable, Therefore, all the Buddhas consulted together, And blessed the sky-soaring bird, Filling its throat with grains. This is the compassion of the three protectors of the family, Born from the neck of the queen of birds, Taken from within the lute of the goddess, Made from the five elements as the cause, It is the blessing of the Three Jewels. Then, the old woman of existence, Planted this grain on the ground of the Great Vehicle, From above, it rained nectar, She plowed vigorously with the plow of generosity, Planted the seed of pure morality, The precious fruit of patience ripened, She harvested with the swift sickle of diligence, Bound it with the rope of meditative experience, Loaded it on the burden of the Great Vehicle's wisdom, And placed it in the realm of ultimate truth, She threshed it with the stick of unattached love, The wind of the elements separated the pure from the impure, It became the object of desire for both samsara and nirvana. The origin of the ancient grain came about in this way. Then, the gods consulted together, And blessed the beings of sentient beings, The elephant is the protector of the land, The buffalo and yak joined their necks to pull the plow, The trees and
