This is the extraordinary practice notes on longevity practice, personally bestowed by the great accomplished one in pure vision. Visualize yourself clearly as the yidam Hayagriva or any other deity. In the sky in front, visualize the iron meteorite vajra: The immutable vajra with five prongs blazing with fire. In the center, the master of accomplishment, Thangtong Gyalpo, Appears as a centenarian, with hair and beard, And a white goatee, with three blazing reddish-black eyes. He wears a spotless cotton robe. In vajra posture, in meditative equipoise, he holds a longevity vase. On his crown sits Buddha Amitabha. In his throat is Hayagriva, the wrathful king blazing with fire. In his heart is Padmasambhava, with white and red complexion. Visualize all these clearly, like reflections appearing in a mirror. Note: For the sake of pacifying untimely death and other obstacles and harms, And for the sake of accomplishing the long-life, immutable vajra body, Offer your body, speech, and mind to the great accomplished one in front. Generate devotion and pray in this way: HRIH HRIH HRIH (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Literal Chinese meaning) Amitabha, care for all beings. Protector Amitayus, give immortality to beings. Hayagriva, the powerful king, dispel the obstacles of beings. Padmasambhava, refuge of beings in the degenerate age. Pray to Thangtong Gyalpo without fail. We pray, dispel obstacles and hindrances. Bless us, bestow the accomplishment of immortality. Having prayed three times, light radiates from the body of the accomplished one and the deities of the three places. My life force and scattered vitality, And the obstacles of the eight classes of non-human beings, And the essence of the four elements and the life and merit of beings, And all the compassion of the noble ones, are all gathered into the nectar of immortality, like honey. It dissolves into the vase, and because it cannot be contained, it overflows from the mouth. First, on a clean platform covered with a cloth, place five clusters of flowers, or on a lotus eight-petal diagram, place a longevity torma in the shape of a vase in a precious vessel, decorated with wish-fulfilling tree leaves and a horse head, surrounded by longevity pills, in a skull cup with auspicious signs, place longevity wine, mixed with the essence of grains, nectar, and samaya substances, around the perimeter, arrange the two waters and the five preliminary offerings in a straight line or circle.
