Having paid homage to the guru deity who, by being propitiated, bestows the glory of desires, and who grants wishes like a wish-fulfilling gem, I shall write the essential instructions for accomplishing the excellent vase, a great treasure of abundance. This has three parts: preparation, main practice, and conclusion. Firstly, the practitioner should have received empowerment into the mandala of the Wealth-Continuum Mother within the Vajra Garland, or if not, into the general mandala of the Three Families, or into the mandala of the Five-Deity Arapacana. They should have properly received the subsequent permission based on this wheel itself, or the subsequent permission that comes from the Ocean of Sadhanas. With samaya and vows completely pure, they should first complete the recitation, either extensive or concise, and the accomplishment of the wheel, etc., as has been explained, in a thorough manner. Then, the actual practice is as follows: Inside a precious or clay vase without cracks, place various grains, except for buckwheat and barley; various jewels, except for copper, lead, and tin; various medicines, except for poisons and musk; various foods, except for meat, alcohol, and garlic; various silks, cloths, and woolen fabrics, preferably obtained from wealthy countries. If not, obtain them from auspicious individuals. Also, place whatever virtuous substances can be obtained, such as the foundation of houses, fields, and the hair of horses and livestock from places and individuals with blessings, merit, and prosperity. In particular, the venerable Jetsun Rinpoche said in the essential instructions of the wheel: "Place it inside a large food container, soak it in butter, honey, and sugar, and if you make offerings with flowers, etc., regularly, then all siddhis will be accomplished." As it is said, fill it with melted butter, honey, and sugar. On the upper part of the vase, place the consecrated wheel, making sure not to mistake the top and bottom or the front and back, and include a yellow robe. Then, fill it again with a mixture of grains and medicines. If you wish, at appropriate times, place the Eight Auspicious Symbols, the Eight Substances, the Seven Precious Jewels, and the Five Objects of Desire.
