I, Padmasambhava, in order to increase the glory of the decline of the vessel and essence, have taught the Treasure Sadhana of Auspiciousness. If those who possess the mind of enlightenment and wisdom practice it properly, then the glory of the vessel will increase, and prosperity and good fortune will gather. The beings of the essence will possess happiness and joy. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, the merit and qualities are immeasurable. Therefore, future followers, generate diligent effort in this. Samaya! Gya gya gya! In the past, in the increasing kalpa, the great ocean supported the four continents. The right-turning earth base was closely connected. The essence of the sea vapor and the earth base increased, so the rain and water fell on time, and the crops and livestock were good. The gods above and the nagas below, the three realms of humans in between, relied on each other for merit. If humans decline, then the gods and nagas will also decline. Therefore, the human body of beings is the basis for attaining enlightenment in one lifetime. It is more complete than the gods. Naturally, afflictions are small. The self-illuminating light illuminates all directions. Bliss and joy, samadhi, are nourished by essence. All three realms are happy. Then, the minds of humans are moved by demons. With ego-grasping, conceptual thoughts, attachment, and hatred, merit and enjoyment gradually decline. The radiance diminishes, and the sun and moon are obscured. From the obscurations of common karma, the wheel of delusion moves through the cracks, the ocean turns to the left and decreases. The distance between the sea vapor and the earth base increases, so the essence of the elements gradually diminishes. The gods and nagas who hold the essence lose their power. At the very end of the degenerate age of strife, the five poisons of beings are strong, so attachment, hatred, fighting, and suffering blaze like fire. The ten virtues are abandoned, and non-virtue rages like the wind. All good conduct is abandoned, and nine kinds of wrong conduct flourish. The gods who protect decline, and the demons and spirits become arrogant. The food of the final evil age is the inhalation of smoke. The gods above are angry, and the nagas below faint.
