The Ritual of the White Umbrella Canopy: Rangjung Dorje. The Ritual of the White Umbrella Canopy: Rangjung Dorje. Herein lies the Ritual of the White Umbrella Canopy. I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Desiring to perform the ritual of the White Umbrella Canopy, there are three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding rituals. The first has two parts: the ground ritual and the preparation of materials. The first is to examine what is needed and not needed. For the needed ground, raise it in visible and invisible places, and give offerings to the assembly of elementals. Arrange the place of the wealth holder and the offering torma. Generate, invoke, offer, praise, and supplicate. Bestow permission, think of it as one's own. Recite the essence and purify with actions. Utter Hūṃ and make it the basis of the vajra. In the previously made place, meditate. With the seed syllables raṃ (藏文,梵文天城體,ram,Fire), yaṃ (藏文,梵文天城體,yam,Wind), khaṃ (藏文,梵文天城體,kham,Space), burn, purify, scatter, and bless. This is a summary of the ground work. The second is the preparation of materials, etc., namely: thread, colors, and the crown protrusion, stakes, wheels, offering torma, the form of the one to be accomplished, and the homa fire pit, vases, and so on, all as spoken in the texts. These are the preliminary rituals. The main practice has two parts: the activities of the mandala and the actual practice. The first is to draw lines, write, prostrate, and sit down. Arrange the offering torma well as a preliminary. The actual practice has three parts: the protection circle, entrusting awareness, and the lower activities. The first is to instantly generate the pride of oneself as the deity or the Great Sage. Generate love, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment for all sentient beings equal to the sky, and the mind to accomplish whatever action is to be done. Give offerings to the elementals and recite the protective mantra, setting the boundaries. Then, from the letter A (藏文,梵文天城體,a,Unborn) abiding in one's heart, radiate light and invite the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The first is to prostrate: I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! I prostrate to the Dharma! I prostrate to the Sangha! I prostrate to the seven hundred million Buddhas, the Thus-Gone Ones, the Arhats, the Perfectly Complete Buddhas, along with the Sangha of Hearers! I prostrate to the Buddha, the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha,
