The Sequence of Interpreting Good and Bad Omens in Dreams from the Lama Gongpa Duspa. Sangye Lingpa. The Sequence of Interpreting Good and Bad Omens in Dreams from the Lama Gongpa Duspa. Sangye Lingpa. From the Lama Gongpa Duspa, the method called "The Sequence of Interpreting Good and Bad Omens in Dreams" is present. Namo Guru Deva Dakini Hum! The yogi who takes faith in the lama, yidam, and dakini as the path, if he wishes to always be close to the good and bad omens of dreams, then he should examine in a secluded place, in a pure place with auspicious stars and planets, life force eight flourishing, leisure and opportunity complete, and a waxing moon. This has three parts: First, approaching and accomplishing; second, then applying to activities; third, then the actual examination. The first is: In a pure place, perform wiping and standing on one leg facing west; sprinkle with fragrant water; fumigate with gugul or incense; then arrange the body representations and offerings of the lama, yidam, and dakini; prepare the torma of the three whites and three sweets; the practitioner himself should bathe; fumigate with juniper; wear clean, spotless clothes; abandon meat, alcohol, and garlic; with refuge and bodhicitta, instantly visualize oneself clearly as Padmasambhava, with red Amitabha on the crown of the head, possessing the mudra of equipoise, possessing the attire of complete enjoyment; at the throat, white Avalokiteshvara, with one face and four arms; at the heart, the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha, with the right hand touching the earth and the left hand in equipoise, in the attire of a practitioner. Meditate, invite the wisdom beings and absorb them, and also offer with offerings; without mixing speech with others; recite: Om Buddha Tsu Ru Ke Maha Tsu Ru Ke Hrih Mum Svaha. Recite this for three days, and string together red and white sandalwood and ruta like beads; take the first milk of a clean, newly married woman who has given birth to a single son, mix it with ghee, and add candy; these should not be seen by any other living being, and the practice should be kept secret, unknown to others. By this, the senses will be clear, the mind will be clear, and whatever is dreamed will appear clearly without diminishing, and common signs of purifying obscurations will appear, and one will also dream of friends. During the breaks between sessions, offer offerings and torma to the lama, yidam, dakini, Amitabha, Avalokiteshvara, and the Bhagavan, according to the Kriya tantra. Second, applying to activities.

Additionally: When desiring to examine a dream, as before, on an auspicious day, clean and tidy a pure place that suits your mind, place the pillow with its head pointing north, and in front of the pillow, arrange representations of the deities of the three places (body, speech, and mind), such as tsatsas, as supports. Set out the five offerings and a torma adorned with the three white foods (milk, yogurt, and butter). Wear clean clothes and sit on a clean cushion. Bathe yourself and burn incense. With a strong and unwavering intention to examine the dream, clearly visualize the three supports on the pillow, offer the seven-branch prayer and the torma. Then, first, generate yourself as Vajrasattva. Recite the hundred-syllable mantra as much as possible. After that, Vajrasattva dissolves into yourself, and visualize your body as a flawless white mass of wisdom light, like a mirror. Your own inherent awareness manifests as a white and luminous letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal Chinese meaning: A), burning like a butter lamp in the center of the wisdom light mass. Do not let your awareness scatter, but focus on it. Recite the above root mantra and: Om Mucini Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་མུ་ཙི་ནི་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Devanagari: ॐ मुचिनी स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ mucini svāhā, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Liberator, Svaha!), Om Mukhaleni Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་མུ་ཁ་ལེ་ནི་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Devanagari: ॐ मुखलेनि स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ mukhaleni svāhā, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Masked One, Svaha!), Om Mohani Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་མོ་ཧ་ནི་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Devanagari: ॐ मोहनि स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ mohani svāhā, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Deluder, Svaha!), Om Dantale Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་དན་ཏ་ལེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Devanagari: ॐ दन्तले स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ dantale svāhā, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Toothed One, Svaha!), Om Sutela Durmi Siddhi Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སུ་ཏེ་ལ་དུར་མི་སིདྡྷི་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Devanagari: ॐ सुतेल दुर्मी सिद्धि स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ sutela durmi siddhi svāhā, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Sutela, Durmi, Accomplishment, Svaha!), reciting these a thousand times. Based on the previous practice, when you are about to fall asleep, place a bindu on each of your three places (forehead, throat, and heart), and also place a bindu on the back of your neck. Also, place a bindu on each of the sense gates: eyes, ears, and tongue. Then, visualize the object of focus in front of you, Amitabha Buddha, coming forth in a radiant form and dissolving into the crown of your head. Similarly, visualize Avalokiteshvara dissolving into your throat, and Shakyamuni Buddha dissolving into your heart. Lie down on your right side like a lion, thinking in your heart: "O Noble One, endowed with great compassion, please clearly show me in my dream what is virtuous and non-virtuous, and the rebirths of the three times, etc." Without letting your mind wander, think about what you want to know. Also, recite the prayer of aspiration three times. When examining in this way, abstain from the evening meal, observe your illness, and wear clothes that are neither too warm nor too cold, but moderate. Especially when you are about to fall asleep, think in your heart about what you want to know, and do not let other thoughts interrupt. When you are about to wake up, grasp it with mindfulness and clearly establish the object of focus. Identify what you dreamed. Third, examining dreams: Most dreams at night are due to habitual tendencies.
