The practice manual of the Wrathful King Black Hayagriva, entitled "Subduing the Arrogant," by Gyurme Dorje. The practice manual of the Wrathful King Black Hayagriva, entitled "Subduing the Arrogant," by Gyurme Dorje. The practice manual of the Wrathful King Black Hayagriva, entitled "Subduing the Arrogant," begins. Namo Guru Hayagrivaya. (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་ཧ་ཡ་གྲཱི་བ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो गुरु हयग्रीवाय, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: Namo guru hayagrīvāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Guru Hayagriva). The Lord of Speech of all Buddhas, the supreme deity, the glorious one, in order to subdue the wicked, appearing in a fierce and blazing form, I respectfully bow down to the King of Wrathful Ones who is fully manifested. Here, I will clarify the practice manual for accomplishing him. There are three parts: preliminary, main practice, and subsequent activities. The first part has two aspects: arranging the implements and the preliminary practices of the ritual. The first is to decorate the dwelling beautifully. In front of the displayed painted image of this deity, arrange a triangular torma adorned with flesh and blood, as well as medicinal offerings, rakta, the five desirable objects, and other offerings, tsok offerings, musical instruments, and all the necessary implements in complete array. The second, the preliminary practices, has seven parts. First, taking refuge: Instantly visualize yourself as Black Hayagriva, and from the black HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: HUM) syllable at your heart, radiate light and invite all the Buddhas of the ten directions along with their sons, all in the form of the mandala of the Wrathful King Hayagriva playing, in the sky in front of you, recite Vajra Samaja (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ, Sanskrit, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Literal Chinese meaning:) to invite them. HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: HUM). Root guru of the lineage, Yidam deity, source of accomplishments, Dakini who bestows blessings, I take refuge in the three roots. Recite three times. Second, generating bodhicitta: HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: HUM). In order to accomplish the benefit of self and others, who are inseparable, having accomplished all the Hayagriva Wrathful Kings, until the supreme bodhi, I generate the mind to act for the benefit of others. Recite three times. Third, the seven-branch practice: To the Sugata mandala, the assembly of deities, I prostrate, make offerings, and confess sins. I rejoice in virtue, turn the wheel of Dharma, I beseech you not to pass into sorrow. The supreme and excellent samayas, I will uphold from this day forth. May all sentient beings have happiness, May they be free from all suffering, May they never be separated from bliss, May they realize the equality of all dharmas. Dza Hum Bam Hoh (Tibetan: ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བཾ་ཧོཿ, Sanskrit, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Literal Chinese meaning:). The field of merit dissolves into oneself. Fourth, dispelling obstacles: Arrange the obstacle torma. Purify the obstacle torma with RAM (Tibetan: རཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Literal Chinese meaning:), YAM (Tibetan: ཡཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Literal Chinese meaning:), KHAM (Tibetan: ཁཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Literal Chinese meaning:). From the state of emptiness, from BHRUM (Tibetan: བྷྲཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Literal Chinese meaning:), arises a vast and expansive vessel of precious jewels.
