All sentient beings in the three realms without exception, The merit of placing them in the state of Buddhahood, Can be counted, but the qualities of reciting one of the seven syllables, Cannot be counted. The measure of merit of offering, To Buddhas filling the sky, Can be counted, but the qualities of reciting one of these seven syllables, Cannot be counted. Those who have not received the empowerment and transmission of the seven syllables, When karma and the ripening of karma occur, Those who commit the ten non-virtues and the five heinous crimes, Will be purified in this very life. Whoever holds this essence in their mind, Is the Great Compassionate One, Therefore, he removes obstacles and tames beings. Merely seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching this essence, And those who meditate, recite, write, hold, and teach it, Are endowed with qualities, and wherever they are born, They will never be separated from Avalokiteśvara. Thus, the Vajra words have clearly stated, Generate great faith and joy in this meaning. Think of protecting the vows gathered by the root and branches as they are, and repeat after me.
