A Record of the Sukhāvatī Field Practice from the Namchö Mind Treasure is respectfully presented. Namo Amitābhāya. This is a record of the Namchö Sukhāvatī Field Practice: Preparations are extensive, intermediate, concise, and unelaborate, four in all. Extensive: In front of the field arrangement of a thangka and statue, on the base, arrange eight-petaled lotus clusters of grains. In the center, place the statue on a throne. To the right, place a vase filled with substances, as usual. On the petal behind, place the vajra as a hand symbol. To the left, in a bowl filled with grains, place a few longevity pills, or if the longevity practice is the main focus, place longevity pills, or it is also fine to fill it with longevity torma and various foods. In front, place the longevity torma vase in the usual form. To the right of the rear corner, place nectar; to the left, rakta. To the right of the front corner, place a round torma of the main deity and retinue of three. To the left, place the field-protecting torma of the main deity and retinue of four. Around them, arrange the seven offerings in a circle. These do not need to be changed except for replenishing them. Place a longevity arrow adorned with five-colored silk scarves near oneself. In front of that mandala, on a single offering table, arrange the five offerings for exchange and a maṇḍala. Intermediate: In front of the field arrangement, on the offering table, arrange the statue, vase, and longevity torma in a row. To the left, place the vajra on top of the bowl. Next to it, place one triangular field-protecting torma. In front, arrange the five offerings. Concise: On top of the longevity torma, insert a tsakli. Behind the tsakli, draw a bowl and a vajra. Therein, both the statue and the field arrangement are complete. The torma vase and the vase are complete in that one vase. One triangular field-protecting torma, and in front, arrange the five offerings. Extremely Unelaborate: For daily practice and so on, mentally emanate the mandala, offerings, tormas, and so on. In that case, the field-protecting offering should not be recited. Practice Time: Four or six sessions, whichever is desired. In the first session during the day, first cast the obstacle-removing torma. After that, the preliminary practices are not necessary regularly. Recite according to the recitation arrangement, reciting in between the recitation and the approach section. Then, perform the approach and meditate on the visualization. In front, there is a vast jeweled throne, with eight peacocks in each of the throne's eyes.

Raised up. Above that, on top of a hundred-petaled lotus, upon the full moon, Amitabha (Ödpakmé). Like the color of a red lotus jewel or coral. Wearing three kinds of monastic robes. If you are born in the year of the bird or monkey, your body color is like reddish-yellow lead. Meditate on the three monastic robes as golden. On the left and right are two bodhisattvas and a retinue. Like a market of countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The main one is bigger and taller than all. The supreme Bodhi tree is six thousand yojanas high. With blossoming flowers, fragrant fruits. In front of it, leaning against the tree trunk. In the middle of a small lake of nectar with eight qualities. A large white lotus with eight petals. Slightly open, in the midst of not yet withering. Oneself is a Bodhisattva, body color white. Hair tied up, adorned with silk and precious jewels. Lower body submerged in the lotus. Upper body with palms together, facing forward, meditating on listening to the Dharma. As I pray and recite mantras. From the object generated in front, various rays of light. Spread throughout the sky, earth, and intermediate space. All places become the Pure Land of Great Bliss. The ground is lapis lazuli, the ground is level. Soft and comfortable, with golden swastika patterns. Various beautiful flowers bloom everywhere. All trees are precious, various kinds of trees. Leaves are silk, fruits are auspicious signs. Swirling to the right, joyful swirls, etc., ripen into fruits. Rainbow clouds in the sky, flower rain in the intermediate space. On the ground, whatever desired enjoyments are spread out. All living beings are retinues of Bodhisattvas. All are golden in color, possessing marks and features. Wearing the attire of monks, draped in three monastic robes. All are without the name of suffering, possessing happiness and joy. This is the visualization for purifying the realm. From one's own body, emanate countless assemblies of bodhisattvas like oneself. Emanating billions and countless numbers. For the sake of myself and all beings, from beginningless time. To purify the sins and obscurations up to the present. Prostrate billions and countless times. Likewise, circumambulate billions and countless times. Accomplished in an instant through the power of miraculous abilities. Then, those bodhisattvas. Bathe all the Buddhas and their children. After wiping their bodies with Kashi silk. Emanation body
