From the Longchen Nyingtik: The Inner Practice of Gathering the Vidyadharas. By Jikme Lingpa. From the Longchen Nyingtik: The Inner Practice of Gathering the Vidyadharas. By Jikme Lingpa. From the Longchen Nyingtik: The Inner Practice of Gathering the Vidyadharas. The Inner Practice of Gathering the Vidyadharas: In a solitary and delightful red place, where plants, forests, and flowers flourish, in that auspicious and pleasing supreme place, with mandala offerings and objects, combine sight and other things with wisdom, relax on a comfortable cushion, and practice the profound interdependence, complete with the three aspects of preliminary, main part, and conclusion. Samaya (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཡ, Sanskrit Devanagari: समय, Sanskrit Romanization: samaya, Literal Chinese Meaning: Vow). First, the preliminary practice, the first of the seven branches: Clearly establish the assembly field in the space before you, and go for refuge with knowledge and faith. Namo (Tibetan: ན་མོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः, Sanskrit Romanization: namah, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage). I and all limitless sentient beings, to the Lama who is the essence of the Three Jewels, and to the mandala of the ocean of Vidyadharas, from the depths of our hearts, with faith and reverence, we go for refuge. Three times. Second, the generation of bodhichitta: Ho (Tibetan: ཧོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हो, Sanskrit Romanization: ho, Literal Chinese Meaning: Ho). Having entered this mandala of Vidyadharas, in order to liberate all sentient beings, our parents in the six realms, with immeasurable compassion, we generate the bodhichitta of aspiration, engagement, and ultimate meaning. Three times. Third, the accumulation of merit: Ho (Tibetan: ཧོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हो, Sanskrit Romanization: ho, Literal Chinese Meaning: Ho). Just like a bubble from water, to the deities emanated from the realm of wisdom, we prostrate with manifest awareness. We offer increasing experiences and perceptions. Awareness is perfected in its natural state, We confess. We rejoice in the exhaustion of the nature of phenomena. From the realm of great transference, we turn the wheel of Dharma. We pray to remain in the great rainbow body. We dedicate the accumulation of merit to the youthful vase body. Fourth, commanding the obstacles: Hrih (Tibetan: ཧྲཱི, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hrih). In this mandala of the environment and beings, which are emanations, the classes of demons who seek opportunities to obstruct, having enjoyed the torma, depart elsewhere. If you transgress the command, you will be crushed by the vajra. We subdue them with the mantra and mudra of the four Hums (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hum). Fifth, meditating on the protection circle: Hrih (Tibetan: ཧྲཱི, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hrih). In the pure and vast expanse of appearance and existence, there is not even the name of obstacles or hindrances. The sudden afflictions of deluded thoughts, we cut off in the nature of the Dharmadhatu. Sixth, invoking the wisdom and bestowing blessings: Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hum). From the palace of the Dharmakaya, free from elaboration, the primordial Buddha Samantabhadra, together with the five families, fathers and mothers, and emanated retinue, may the lineage lamas bestow great blessings. From the palace of the illusory vajra, Garab Dorje, Manjushri Shri Singha, and others, may the lineage lamas bestow great blessings. Subduing beings
