The Root Text of the Treasure Teaching of the Three Kayas of the Lama Lekdenje's Three Kayas Path Instructions. The Root Text of the Treasure Teaching of the Three Kayas of the Lama Lekdenje's Three Kayas Path Instructions. The Instructions on the Path of the Three Kayas are Present. The Root Text of the Treasure Teaching of the Three Kayas of the Lama Lekdenje's Three Kayas. To the body, speech, and mind of the Ugyen Lama, I prostrate! With five pure disciples gathered by karma, after respectfully bowing to the Ugyen Lord with the three doors, offering a mandala of precious gold, silver, and turquoise, drawing out the strength of longing, offering this supplication: Ema, precious Lama! The embodiment of the Buddhas of the three times, no Buddha greater than you has ever appeared in this land of Tibet, nor will ever appear. To us, the five faithful disciples, please grant the pithy, meaningful, and profound essence of all the sutras and tantras of the Victorious Ones, the ultimate and supreme secret! To your body, speech, and mind, by praying constantly day and night, through the blessings, may the three doors, in this life, attain maturation and liberation, the essential instructions on the Three Kayas! Thus praying, prostrating, circumambulating. Maha Guru spoke: Listen, faithful ones of Tibet! Seeing the Lama as the Buddha is due to past accumulation of karmic connections. My supreme essence of the Three Kayas, is the essence of the Tripitaka and Tantric teachings, the pure path of the essence of the lotus heart. I will speak of the pithy and meaningful, you all listen with the three doors aligned, without distraction, with one-pointedness, integrate it into your own mind. Thus he spoke. Emaho! The way the Buddha's teachings descend is as follows: The teachings of the Nirmanakaya are the Tripitaka, the teachings of the Sambhogakaya are the three Kriya Yogas, the teachings of the Dharmakaya are the three stages of generation and completion. Gathering the essence of all of these, clarifying with words, applying to meaning, in all stages of practice, there are three: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. Among these, there are common, uncommon, and especially the unsurpassed. The common preliminaries are as follows: From the Sutra: Know suffering, abandon the origin of suffering, realize cessation, and cultivate the path. Thus it is said, and the practice is as follows: Reflect on the example and meaning of the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, examine the good and bad of the cause and effect of karma, take to heart the uncertainty of when death will come, repeatedly contemplate the faults of samsara. By this, ripen your own mind, completely abandon worldly activities, then enter the uncommon preliminaries, oneself.
