As long as the conceptual thoughts of the two obscurations arise, both the external object of focus and one's own cause are impure. When the continuum of a yogi, relying on the object of focus, does not generate even a slight conceptual thought of the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge, at that time, the two obscurations are abandoned, and the purity of the object of focus is ultimate. That is also because, in the ten grounds, practicing the antidote, gradually abandoning the stains of the unfavorable side, the purity of the object of focus changes from higher to higher. Desiring to abandon that fault, it is said: Like the water element, gold, and the sky, one desires to be pure like purity. If that is the case, then purity is the wisdom of suchness, because it is attachment to the side of the antidote, and in reality, it increases attachment to the unfavorable side. Therefore, since the conceptual thoughts of the unfavorable and antidote sides have not been abandoned, it will follow that it is a one-sided purity. The meaning is, for example, water and sky are naturally clear and without stains, but if they are free from dust and turbidity, they will obtain the name of complete purity. Similarly, the realm of phenomena is naturally pure, but when a phenomenon is purified from stains, it is also called completely pure, so there is no fault of purity not becoming a difference. If that is the case, then even in the state of being extremely pure, one will still be attached to the purity being the wisdom of suchness, because the attachment to the antidote side has not been abandoned. Because the pure object is the wisdom of suchness that truly exists. This is pervasive, because if the object truly exists, there is no way to abandon the mind of grasping at it as real. If there is attachment to the antidote, in reality, it will also increase attachment to the unfavorable side, because if there is no unfavorable side, the conceptual thought of the antidote will not arise. In that case, your purity will only become the purity of abandoning stains on one side, because the conceptual thoughts of the unfavorable and antidote sides have not been abandoned. Secondly, according to your view, Mañjuśrī said that the object of focus of omniscience is without substance, so how is the object of focus ultimately pure? There is no fault, because it is without substance that follows reason.

Therefore, the absence of things is said to be the correct conventional truth. Gradually realizing that the obscuration of its true nature is like chaff is itself complete purification. The meaning is: If you also say that the object of omniscience is the absence of things, then for the absence of things, there is no impurity to be removed, so the purity of the object will not become special, it is the same. If asked in this way, the object of our omniscience, if analyzed by reason, is this very dependent arising like an illusion without true things. It is not the non-thing that obscures things. As long as this is not realized as an illusion, attachment to it will arise, so it is called an impure object. When one does not think of it in any extreme, and wisdom arises that appears as the nature of illusion, then all the conceptual thoughts of addition and slander are removed in such a way that they do not arise again, then it is called the ultimate pure object. The third is: If done in this way, the nature that becomes the main thing is the lineage, and the change that becomes the main thing is the object, and both are both, which is not prohibited, this is called the distinction of the characteristics of the support and the object. The meaning is this: In the case of lineage, the nature of the Dharma realm is the main thing, because the lineage is distinguished by the support and the cause. And all dharmas are also rightly in accordance with the root and support of the Dharma realm. In the case of the object, the change, that is, the conventional, is the main thing. For example, any object of the incompatible side is also the object of the antidote side. Because the object on different bases cannot become what is to be abandoned and the antidote. The incompatible side, afflictions and conceptual thoughts, also arise only from the conventional. Therefore, the object of accomplishment is also mainly the conventional. Because change is inseparable from the Dharma nature, it is the support and cause of accomplishment, therefore change is also a characteristic of the lineage, which is not prohibited. And through the accomplishment of objectifying the change characterized by the emptiness of nature, it is possible to remove the incompatible side of the two obscurations, not the change.
