It is not so. Therefore, if one speaks in that way, only destroying one's own tenets, then you will not be able to refute and refute. When one speaks in that way, it will become that one's own tenets alone are destroyed in the manner described, because by the force of your own refutation being refuted, cause and effect are established by their own nature. When that happens, you, the Madhyamika, will not be able to refute the object to be refuted, the self-nature of cause and effect. Furthermore, by the retort of having the same fault in one's own words, because one groundlessly slanders all things, you will not be accepted by the noble ones, and because you have no tenets of your own, you will become a mere destroyer. Regarding this, the consequence of having the same fault in one's own words has already been explained. If something is born without meeting its cause, then will it produce all the fruits that have not been met, or will nothing be born at all? This is unreasonable. For example, even though there is no meeting, it is the same, but the magnet attracts the iron that is in a suitable place, not all of it; similarly, the eye does not meet, but the form that is in a suitable place is not all that is seen; similarly, even though the cause has already produced the effect without meeting, it will not produce all that has not been met, but only the suitable effect will be produced. Therefore, because you groundlessly slander all things, you will not be accepted by the noble ones. Furthermore, you will also become a mere destroyer, because you are separated from establishing your own tenets and are merely engaged in refuting the tenets of others. Secondly, explaining the reason for the disagreement: The fault of saying that the refuter refutes by meeting or not meeting, on whom does this fall? It will definitely fall on the one who has tenets, because for the one who has tenets, it is impossible to become a fault. The fault of having the same fault in one's own words, that the refuter refutes by meeting or not meeting, on which opponent will this fall? It will fall on the one who says that both the refuter and the object to be refuted are established by their own nature, and who definitely has tenets, because there is no other possibility. The Madhyamika

Since I (the author) have neither refutation nor being refuted, because both are not established by their own nature, therefore my side does not exist. The refuter cannot refute the refuted even if they come into contact, nor can they refute without contact. Therefore, the fault of equal consequences is not possible in my argument. As it is said in the sutra: "Venerable Subhuti, can one attain the unarisen dharma by the arisen dharma, or can one attain the unarisen dharma by the unarisen dharma?" Subhuti replied: "Venerable, I do not think that one can attain the unarisen dharma by the arisen dharma, nor do I think that one can attain the unarisen dharma by the unarisen dharma." Shariputra said: "Venerable Subhuti, is there no attainment and no realization?" Subhuti replied: "Venerable Shariputra, there is attainment and there is realization, but not in the manner of two. Venerable Shariputra, attainment and realization are spoken of in conventional truth, and so are stream-enterer, once-returner, non-returner, Arhat, Pratyekabuddha, and Bodhisattva, but in ultimate truth, there is neither attainment nor realization." Thus, it is extensively taught. This sutra prohibits attainment and acquisition in ultimate truth and acknowledges attainment and acquisition in conventional truth. Similarly, the refuted and the refuter are neither in contact nor not in contact, but nevertheless, in name, it should be known that the refuter refutes the refuted. Furthermore, in order to clarify through example the realization of the desired meaning from the refuter who lacks inherent existence, it is said: Just as the various distinctions that exist on the sun's disc, can also be seen in a reflection, at that time, the sun and the reflection, contact and non-contact are not reasonable, the reflection is merely dependently arising in name. Although it does not exist there (in the reflection), it accomplishes its own beautiful appearance, similarly, here too, it should be known that the reason that sees the ability to purify the face of wisdom, even if it is untrue, can realize what is to be realized. Just like the sun's
